Thanks. Normally, it'd be no big deal, but it's hard to clean with a broken toe

For anyone concerned that my signature in a book is perhaps too ridiculous to be a real author’s signature… and that there has been some mistake - no, that’s actually what it looks like. An octopus throwing a spear.

An image of Travis’ underwhelming signature.

Things i get paid to do at work ... Legos!

A pile of legos that is supposed to be a coral reef

A pile of legos that is supposed to be a a tree and a bird

A pile of legos that is supposed to be a waterfall, river and beaver with a dam.

No words can explain how much I love this graphic novel adaptation of Legends and Lattes by @travisbaldree.bsky.social The adaptation by Samuel Sattin is perfect and has some of my fave lines, and the artwork by Shanti Rittgers and Sarah Webb is so beautiful! 📚💙

Right, it’s usually a good idea to warn bot/human constructs who call themselves Murderbot before making grabby hands

The yankees lost and the Falcons won, so i win the family poll and the Yankees lost. All good fun!

I finished grading papers, the braves won, and the panthers kept me in the running for bragging rights. All around a good evening.

I think i will be less angry listening to football, and I think my students will appreciate that.

Trying to decide if i should listen to football or baseball while I finish grading papers. I need the Dodgers to lose just because, but the outcome of the Lions vs Panthers will determine if I win the family football poll this week. 🏉⚾️🏉⚾️🏉⚾️

I read a book once where the MC kept saying "i should talk to him but i don't wanna" and then the climax and reveal of the villain wouldn't have happened if they'd just had a conversation. Those I hate.

I feel like this is labeled as miscommunication when it really isn't. Lack of communication sure, but I also never felt like the plot was being moved forward bc they weren't communicating. They didn't know each other, so their tentative convos made a lot of sense. Also, Jainan is good at hiding.

I also think I need to dnf the two books I'm currently reading. I'm just not enjoying them and feeling like I have to read them instead of wanting to read them. I also feel like I haven't read anything else because they are sitting there waiting and ugh, yeah probably going to dnf

NONFICTION: The Black Count by Tome Reiss. This is about General Alex Dumas, the author's father who I had never heard of. He was a key military figure at the time of napolean. It's about the French revolution, colonialism and racism. It made me mad. It's well-written. The audiobook is fantastic 💙📚🎧

FICTION: Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell - I really liked this book a lot. The characters were incredibly likeable, the plot was investing. It's not really the slow burn that people say it is but their feelings are believeable. I was sad to learn that the sequel is about different characters 💙📚

Gotta remember all the baseball games are at the same time tomorrow, 12:10 my time ⚾️⚾️⚾️ Don't let me forget! I need the rangers to win, and i need the Astros to lose. Nothing else has gone right this season, so the Astros can't make the playoffs
