Artists, show what built your style! (there are SO many influences, but I guess these are the most evident)

Sir William Russel Flint, 'But ye shall abide, and I shall throw such an enchantment upon him that he shall not awake within the space of an hour'; illustration for "Le Morte D'Arthur", 1910.
A woman stands close to a lying man, his eyes closed and his head resting on his hands while she looks at him mysteriously and gesturing with her hand. In the background we see more characters, highlighting a second woman who looks astonished at the scene.

J.J. Grandville, "The Begging Rats", 1852.
A group of 8 rats, some adults and some young, all wearing worn and simple clothes, gather outside a house where a pig stands in the window. One of the rats extends its paw in a begging manner while holding its hat in the other paw.

Arthur Rackham, illustration for "The Goblin Market", 1933.
A woman, Lizzie, refuses to accept the forbidden fruits offered to her by many goblins; the goblins have all kinds of shapes and faces, some with a wicked smile. They stand in a dark forest.

John Bauer, Lithograph, 1915.
The same composition John Bauer used for "The Princess and the Trolls".
Three figures walk in a single line: two trolls with long noses and between them, a delicate princess with a white dress, a long wavy hair and a large crown on her head. The background is pitch black.

Regret 2025 graphite and digital a humble tribute to Over the Garden Wall -{ #art | #illustration | #fantasy | #OtGW }-

"Regret" presents Beatrice, a character from the animated series Over the Garden Wall. Beatrice was cursed after throwing a rock at a bluebird: all her 12 relatives, as well as her, were transformed into bluebirds. The illustration shows us her transformation, looking in shock and crying as her right arm transforms into a bird's wing. She stands in front of a dark forest, the deep orange of autumn slowly being consumed by cyan and blue. Flying around her and into the forest we spot 12 bluebirds. The illustration also brings a foot frame, with four pumpkins and Enoch - another character, the ruler of Potsfield - in the center.
