I’m often mistaken for a vegetarian. (Drawing: a guy goes “ta-da!” after bringing me to a restaurant called Meatless Cuisine. I exclaim “Oh!” and think to myself, “I hope they have gluten-free food.”)

The truth is, while I’ve lowered my meat & dairy significantly… (drawing: I’m chopping mushrooms and singing “mushroom, MUSHROOM!”)

… I have no problem eating an animal if I know it wasn’t factory farmed.

Drawing: a farmer’s market vendor tells me gently, “We HUG each pig to death.” I coo in reply, “AWW! Two, please.”

Driving to Toronto a day early is the smartest move I’ve ever made for TCAF. Driving 9 hours and waking up early the next morning to set up for a con is not a 44-year-old thing to do! I’ll be at TCAF tomorrow & Sunday, but until then I’ll just be out enjoying this Canadian summer day. 😎

This morning we drove to Bozeman Pride for @zoandbehold.bsky.social to speak, then went down to Yellowstone and saw incredible sights. Then, on the drive back to Missoula at 1AM, the heavens erupted. Naked eye visible aurora. The northern lights told us Happy Pride :)

RIP to the 2023 version of my garden, which was constructed a) to keep my housemate’s dog out and b) because it tuns out weaving bamboo wattle fences is fun and addicting.

A big old thriving home garden surrounded by woven bamboo wattle fences and displaying colorful strips of fabric as a makeshift Progress Pride. Flowers and veggies are flourishing.

Same garden after two winters, three cats, a billion insects and a fuckton of direct sun. Bamboo slats are grey and cracking apart. The Pride flag now looks like if a cough was a decoration.
