I know it is a late entry and may not even quite fit the format but I think you need to see this
Faine Greenwood posts: The forecast is sunny and clear outside, with a 80% chance of sudden assault by Christ lasers.

There is an image of a detail from a religious painting, with a saint with an aureus (halo) around his head, in monk's robes, hands up, his hair tonsured, and an annoyed or vexed look on his face. In the sky above him a glowing Christ figure, and lines through the air connecting the two.

les gens avec français
APStylebook tweet:

We recommend avoiding general and often dehumanizing "the" labels such as the poor, the mentally ill, the French, the disabled, the college-educated. Instead, use wording such as people with mental illnesses. And use these descriptions only when clearly relevant.

Reply from The Associated Press:

The use of “the French” in this tweet by @AP was inappropriate and has caused unintended offense. An updated tweet is upcoming.

LOL Bye-bye, James Talarico. I really didn't think their software would respond to anything that didn't include "stop" or "end."
A text from Talarico for Texas at short code 95079 that begins with a picture of James Talarico in a suit, partly turned away from the camera.

"$100 for James Talarico. Here’s why:

$100 to ensure our movement is not silenced or drowned out by billionaires and corporate mega-donors.

$100 to fight back against the nonstop lies and attacks from national Republicans and their super PACs.

$100 to help us organize in all of Texas’ 254 counties and maintain our lead in the polls.

It may not seem like much against SLF’s $50 million ad buy. But if everyone who cares about this race and the Senate majority gives now, we will flip this U.S. Senate seat.

Please donate if you can: https://talarico4tx.com/sgBhdq

With proper alt text:
‘The best thing for being sad,’ replied Merlyn, beginning to puff and blow, ‘is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the thing for you. Look at what a lot of things there are to learn - pure science, the only purity there is. You can learn astronomy in a lifetime, natural history in three, literature in six. And then, after you have exhausted a milliard lifetimes in biology and medicine and theo-criticism and geography and history and economics - why, you can start to make a cartwheel out of the appropriate wood, or spend fifty years learning to begin to learn to beat your adversary at fencing. After that you can—’

Stop posting AI slop, Mark.
A Bluesky post from Mark Hamill of a supposedly heartwarming video of a baby kissing a living statue performer who breaks character, with both the baby and performer smiling and laughing as people look on, filming them.

The only problem is, there is no baby. There is no statue. There are no people. The video is AI and completely fake. Everything about it is designed to trick you, tugging your heartstrings with a scene that never took place outside of the pixels of some AI model running in a data center.

The original poster, Michelle, said "A much-needed break from anything serious." Quote-posting it, Mark added, "It doesn't get any cuter than this." The video itself has a caption, "Watch: Innocent Little Boy Kisses Golden Living Statue, Making Both The Artist And Child Burst Into Laughter."

If only the video really showed an innocent little boy, it would be heartwarming, but it does not. I have overlayed the screenshot with a big red X, "AI" in red, and at the bottom, the words "No Thanks, Clanker!"

It's my lily and I'll cry if I want to Lilium davidii (David's Lily): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilium_...
Lilium davidii var. wilmottiae

Lilium davidii is an Asian species of plants in the lily family. Lilium davidii grows up to 1.5 meters high, and bears up to about 20 unscented flowers with recurved tepals (bent backwards), orange or reddish orange, from July to August.

The specimen in the photo is a luscious orange to reddish orange color with dark spots on the petals, with the small frond-like "tepals" emerging from the center, against a lush background of green leaves.

The species is named for French missionary and naturalist Armand David (1826-1900).

What's your favorite Bible verse? Wrong answers only.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial "outside agitator" idea. Anyone who lives inside the United States can never be considered an outsider anywhere within its bounds.
