This was the only thing I could think of yesterday while updating his style and giving him my standard project pose.

Slow return. Both my hand and back can’t handle too much time at the tablet under current circumstances, unfortunately. But I got a few churned out moderately quick today. #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

Trying to create the beta list of Battle Powers for the “Xenoverse” section of the timeline and use it as a very rough story outline for that section of the project…except I don’t trust the existing translations of characters or anything for DBO. So now I’m off on a completely different tangent…

Minor Trunks updates to wrap up his Zamasu trials. Apocalypse clothes, clean Blooma provided version, and the temporary sweater. (Ignore the bright Z color boots on the clean clothes. I forgot the sweater art from Toriyama had a clean version of the boots for colors.) #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

Saw someone else do this over on Twitter, and decided to try my own hand at it since it’s a change that actually occurs in the project. Was a real struggle to resist trying to draw him how I wanted to, rather than how I thought Toriyama would within the constraints. #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

Haven't had time to get back to the grind yet, but here was my last character base prep work from the other day for Super!Trunks. Sans jacket, sword, neckerchief, etc. (God and Blue are just "because". Not necessarily being used in the respective content.) #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

It's Mother's Day, so I tried to churn out some mothers and their children. But I was too ambitious. Out of the moms, I only finished this Blooma. But she's accompanied by Trunks, Trunks (Mini), and Bra. #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

The cloak is basically yoinked as-is from her initial SDBH manga “disguise”. It was never given colors though. So I just did something that wasn’t brown.

Revisited Towa in the new brush and art style. Earrings are also drawn. Just not sure when I'm giving them to her. The SDBH demons are revealed to be wearing potara, and that obviously doesn't align for those at the apex of the Demon Realm in Daima. Tinkering needed. #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

The fur genuinely has no right to look even half as good as it does. And definitely not on a XV/SDBH abomination.

Mira (Towa absorbed) in the new brush and art style. Experimented and attempted to use the fur rendering method from Toriyama's design for SS4 Goku in Daima. There's an infinite skill gulf between the two of us...but it doesn't look terrible... #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

Current collection of RMZ Zoids kits (with guest appearances by the kaiju figure collection). They definitely need separated soon. Ghidorah is gonna take up so much space when it arrives. I just dunno where else to put the Zoids at the moment. lol

Blooma, from the Minus days. Didn't really like the colors from the anime or the World Collectable Figure with the purple hair that I'm keeping for her. So you just get this quasi amalgamation with some of my own choices added in. #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

Stole Toriyama's design for Deathroy from Blue Dragon to use for Gichamu. In the project, he's a disabled little alien who built his own transport device before being recruited by Freeza. He also developed the scouters for him (instead of Kikono, per the retcon). #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art

Toriyama’s artwork for Planet Kaishin was revealed at Genki Damatsuri this weekend. Unlike in the anime, the elderly Gurindoan had a unique colored outfit in the image. So I did a quick update to their colors. #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art www.deviantart.com/the-devils-c...

Girl, I've been working on the DB project for over a decade and it's nowhere near done. Our project's script wasn't remotely finished, and at this point probably won't be. We aren't getting any younger either.

Gonna hold off on anymore Super content for the foreseeable future in case the remake rumor has legs. Not inherently interested in it based on supposed details tho. Needs better colors & compositing at the very least. If it’s the same style, just less off model…even new story tweaks won’t save it.

040

DBRedux Project @dbreduxproject.bsky.social · 11/01/2026

This is a bit of a shame to me. As (one of?) Toriyama’s last project(s), I wish it felt more like a love letter to DB and his other works (Jaco, Sand Land, etc) & the designs the art style was originally trying to encompass, not just improving it to align with the cooler DB franchise at large.

030

DBRedux Project @dbreduxproject.bsky.social · 11/01/2026

I hate to say this with how much work friends obviously put into the project, but while the choices for crafting the new version do make for a better story than what we got, the project now evokes the Toei films, GT, etc. Especially with a lot of the new designs that facilitate the changes.

DBRedux Project @dbreduxproject.bsky.social · 11/01/2026

Despite having my own intention to revise Daima, I caved and started watching the DB Magic rewrite. While I have almost exclusively positive things to say about the care that went into the writing overall, it’s not remotely what I would’ve wanted out of the series.

130

DBRedux Project @dbreduxproject.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

It very much feels like some looked at “10+1” and thought that’s the bonus, rather than Minus. But even that seems hard to rationalize since their chapters are obviously taken from the volume version now, given they include the characters profiles. It’s all pretty clearly labeled in the ToC…

020

DBRedux Project @dbreduxproject.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

@viz.com Is there a reason Jaco the Galactic Patrolman stops at Chapter 10? I get not having the Minus Special Chapter from the volume release, but Chapter 11 was part of the original run of the series in the magazine.

DBRedux Project @dbreduxproject.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

End portion of Jaco 100% puts the guy on the spectrum. He's so out of pocket. Offers to take his friends to space, then tells Tights not to pop the hatch and kill them while they're up there. When she retorts she's actually a genius, he ignores her to talk about the extinction bomb with Omori.

Updated sheet for Vegetto during Daima/Ozotto. No potara in this arc, because they fuse with the join bugs. For the project, the earrings are made from the bugs. And the extra enchantments or whatever changes them to be permanent. #DBRedux #DragonBall #DB #art www.deviantart.com/the-devils-c...
