Two things about this dumb “common sense” argument. Schutz is saying trial lawyer >> politician. But in this case the trial lawyer’s clients would be corporations and other rightwing donors. I’d rather have a great manager like Keith who’s been publicly accountable to the people for years.

FWIW the landlord says on Facebook it’s still coming … “they’re preparing to submit for permits … He runs multiple restaurants and pays close attention to the details. The patio plans taking longer than expected …” [Bob Uecker voice] JUUUST a bit longer ….

Timberwolves add Kevin Calabro, Jon Sciambi to high-powered broadcast
team
E, Summarize
Jon Krawczynski The Minnesota Timberwolves have assembled a star-powered broadcasting team for
what is shaping up to be a highly anticipated season.
The Wolves have hired former Portland Trail Blazers announcer Kevin Calabro and Jon "Boog" Sciambi, the play-by-play voice of the Chicago Cubs and a prominent national baseball and college basketball announcer for ESPN, to join a stable that will continue to include Michael Grady and Alan Horton. All four will work with longtime color
analyst Jim Petersen, who returns for his 29th season with the Wolves. Minnesota also announced that Meghan McPeak, a play-by-play announcer for WNBA games on USA Sports and former member of the Washington Wizards
broadcast team, will serve as the sideline reporter and studio host for all road games. The Wolves have long had one of the league's most respected television broadcast teams, which Grady parlayed into national gigs with Amazon Prime Video and NBC/Peacock. He has wanted to remain connected to the franchise that gave him his first shot as a full-time play-by-play announcer, doing a select number of Wolves games while also serving as a national voice akin to Mike Breen with the New York
Knicks and lan Eagle with the Brooklyn Nets. The Timberwolves are still working through the specitics of how many games each person will work in the play-by-play chair next to Petersen, an institution in Minnesota
basketball. Calabro has long been considered one of the most talented play-by-play announcers in the league, and he comes to Minnesota after a high-profile split with the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this summer.Trail Blazers broadcaster fired hours after hiring for past racist, sexist social
media posts
E Summarize
Jason Quick PORTLAND, Ore. - The same day the Portland Trail Blazers announced the hiring of television broadcaster Braiden Bell, the team has fired him because of past social media posts. KGW-TV reported the posts were made when Bell was a teenager in
2012 and 2013.
Bell, 29, was the television play-by-play announcer for the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury. ¿The Portland Trail Blazers have zero tolerance for racist, sexist or harmful comments," the team said in a statement. "Social media posts made by our recently announced play-by-play announcer are in clear violation of team and league policies, as well as our values and expectations. Therefore, we will not be moving forward with
this broadcaster." Bell was set to appear at Sunday's Fan Fest scrimmage and begin working in Portland next week. He was replacing veteran broadcaster Kevin Calabro, who spent nine
seasons broadcasting in Portland.

Reminds me of the ancient initial NHL expansion where they put all the new 6 teams in one division. Frost are the only originals out west, right?

the bookstore is in a different building … maybe the landlord bought that? Anyway, he’s filled every other space he’s had on that block. Don’t know anything about rep, he did engage on X before it totally melted down … thanks for info.

If you’re angling for a Ralph Rapson-designed church, one at 58th & Cedar can be yours for $2.49 million. [DHH, which did so much mutual aid work during the surge, is moving somewhere bigger in S Mpls tho story doesn’t say where.]

One thing that stands out in the redacted document is that a high ranking officer - presumably Axel Henry - was on board with ICE; saw immigration as a black-and-white issue. SPPD were of course collaborating with ICE, and Mayor Her did nothing to stop it.

You have to ask yourself why do you need The Star Tribune pretending they’re saying something relevant when you’ve heard it 100 times from folks to the left of you, but ignored it every time you heard it? Even though it was just as reasonable and prudent then as it is now.
