Don’t remember ever having a Woolworth’s but we had their discount chain Woolco. They also had the classic lunch counter. I’ll have a cheeseburger, no pickles or onions, fries and a chocolate milkshake. Oh, I’ll pick up a squeaky toy for our French poodle, Fifi.

I liked Dalton as Bond, but the scripts weren’t very good for either film.

I saw the promo for GIANT that TCM showed just before the start of MANCURIAN CANDIDATE, with the picture book images of the cast as their characters. Even the secondary characters had ridiculous names. 🙄

Julie Delpy was good but I just didn't like the film. It's been a long time so I can't quite put my finger on why. Don't plan on recording it tonight though perhaps I should give it a chance.

Was never a fan of BLANC / WHITE, but BLUE and RED are both brilliant, along with La Double Vie de Véronique. Fascinating & beautiful films.

Trilogy of Terror with Karen Black and that damn Zuni warrior doll.

I remember seeing a lot of this via the Spokane cable stations we had.

Sigh. I see the biweekly showing of GIANT is on this coming Saturday. Great. When will REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE be on again? It’s been a couple of weeks. Side note: could any of the characters in GIANT have a normal name? #TCMParty

I was 8 but remember watching Nixon’s televised address on August 8, 1974, announcing his resignation effective the next day, and his leaving the White House on August 9th. Even then, I understood that these were important events in history. #TCMParty

Great to see ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN tonight. Also thrilled to see Krzysztof Kieślowski‘s TROIS COLEURS: BLEU is on TCM Imports tonight (along with BLANC). Already have ROUGE on my PVR. If you haven’t seen BLEU in particular, I recommend it. A beautiful and moving film. #TCMParty

Do you get the Canadian broadcast feed or the ESPN announcers?

I am watching on a Canadian cable channel, Sportsnet. On two of the other Sportsnet channels are OTT v TOR, and SEA v EDM.

Since the NHL games are no longer on the CBC, after 76 years, they can’t call it that. The CBC and the PWHL have reached agreement to show 8 Saturday night games this year, those will be HNIC games. And Mr Saturday Night has scored!

There was a terrific protest in Santiago, Chile, back in 2011 with a flash mob descending on the presidential palace. They marched there as zombies and suddenly broke out the Thriller dance to protest the “dying” education system in the country. There are videos online. Loved it.

Daffy’s imitation of an elk always slayed me. My long held theory is that Bugs is who we want to be while Daffy is who we are. Well, me anyways.

Nov 89, I was living in Amsterdam. One day I was watching CNN Europe and a panel was discussing everything happening in E. Europe. At the end of the discussion they turned to East Germany. The panel agreed, the government and security services were fully in control, nothing would happen. 1 wk later…

It really is a beautiful city and I think I would have liked living there. Always enjoyed visiting it. Ottawa was really handy when I lived in Montreal, as OTT had a MEC while MTL didn’t at the time. It was worth the road trip now and then to gear up.
