I think what it does with the open world only works because it sets the kinda typical baselines first. The same goes for the combat, though I think turning the enemy aggression and damage up in the assist options also helped a lot. And I've already talked about how much I like Dylan as a character

Also to be clear I think Dylan has a whole heap of personality! He loves to draw, he feels bad for the enemies in video games, he completely brightens up upon finding one (1) dog But he's a little awkward and monotone asking people how they are so I guess we shouldn't consider him a person anymore

The thing I'm wondering most about Ravenous is there's really only two endings it can have, either Adam is going to show up with drug for metroid cure which Samus accepts, or one of those robot dudes will offer drug for metroid cure which Samus rejects obviously only one of those is interesting
