Patching ✨(I've been absolutely looooving getting into Max lately - I have so much I want to build).

It's been slow going on the mountain, but finally receiving the vinyl for Kokapi's Adventure by @catbeats.life gave me a fresh boost of vibes and motivation ✨ Beautiful stuff as ever 🎵

Sometimes I fantasize about opening a small coffee / cassette tape / tiny synth shop. I'd call it "Filter" or something puny like that 💭

I've starting project managing my private life with Notion like a dork. Truly a beast of a software, and it took me a minute to figure out. But as someone with a messy brain and WHO WANTS TO DO ALL THE THINGS, it's really been helping me focus my attention. I recommend ✨

Synths have often been used to invoke sci-fi vibes. I like it when synths are used to conjure a sense of magic ✨

Also, Meanwhile by Aivi & Surasshu (who did the score for Steven Universe!). Pretty pretty pretty piano / tracker chiptune goodness ✨ #BandcampFriday

On this #BandcampFriday, a highlight have been discovering in Infloresce records. First, rec, Chaffinch Market Promenade by Winnie — the coziest little album about a bunch of cozy little shops. So much my vibe! ✨

I'm slowly working my way through Push Turn Move by Kim Bjørn. As much as I love the sound of synths and drum machines etc., I am completely fascinated by them from a design perspective. #reading #books #synthsky #design

Throwback! One of the first tunes I wrote for what would become the Daydream Mountain project. Inspired by a memory of getting onigiris and iced coffee from 7-Eleven every morning, while on a trip to Japan 🍙 ☕️ #synthsky #synth #synthesizers #jazz #electronicmusic #onigiri #coffee #japan

I've been in a weird funk for the last few years, where after a full day of work and patenting, I've had no emotional energy to create anything. But strangely enough I've found when in that mental space, I loooooove practicing scales and arpeggios and such. I find it incredibly meditative ✨

The biggest thing that has kept me sane as an adult and as a parent, has been keeping a hobby. It's important to have some sort of pursuit/outlet that isn't defined by external expectations and responsibilities.
