Luckily, I've gotten much better at this lately!

A three panel comic titled "Portion control". A person is looking at art online. At first they are motivated "That's some interesting art... Maybe I should try that too?" They keep looking at more art and feel motivated: "Wow!! These artists are so good! I can't wait to go practise so I can catch up!". As they look at even more art, they get overwhelmed: "They're so many... Why am I even trying...?"

What I saw vs what I painted 🌄

Picture of a sunset. The black silhouettes of threes and a roof are in stark contrast with the orange of the clouds, which make most of the composition.

A digital painting with the same sunset, with the addition of little glowing ghosts floating through the trees. Teal and black lines also contrast the realistic style of the painting, overlaying over the trees' foliage and clouds.

Bluesky is a great site but you have to unlearn EVERYTHING Twitter has ever taught you to make it useable. Repost yourself. Interact with others. Use tags. Use feeds. Be kind and find kindness. Comment away. It's really really freeing.

I did this one in my sketchbook in 2016 I think. Gouache on paper, I don't know how to paint with gouache anymore

Tip for coloring - If you struggle with muddy colors, try saturating the transition from light to shadow!

I don't think I've ever used so much teal in my life, and it's @bbnomula.bsky.social [ #bbno$ #hatsunemiku #fanart #mixedmedia #art ]

An illustration of bbno$'s Hatsune Miku cosplay. He is looking at the viewer with a serious expression. The background depicts lights and fog from a concert, while the whole environment is teal tinted, like Miku's hair.

Feeling... rough. Lately.

Panel 1:
"I make art for a living."
Drawing character art on a tablet

Panel 2:
"It feels... Questionable right now."
Drawing interrupted by a news alert

Panel 3:
"So much horror and pain all around us... And it feels like it's getting worse every day."
Cait staring at her tablet while news alerts ping loudly

Panel 1:
"What the hell am I doing."
Cait takes off her glasses and rubs her eyes, the news alerts are louder and more frightening

Panel 2:
"I'm drawing pretty pictures while the world is on fire. While families are torn apart. While war and genocide become daily news. While my country is held hostage by bigots who want me and the people I love to die."
Cait holds her head in her hands, overwhelmed by pinging alerts

Panel 1:
"But I can't think that way. ...not every day, at least..."
Cait balls her fists, grimacing with tears on her face

Panel 2:
"I love what I do. And I work in entertainment - providing beauty and escapism for my audience."
She puts her glasses back on and picks up her tablet pen, sniffling

Panel 1:
"We need art in turbulent times. People need escape from the horrors. And if I can provide that - then I'm being helpful."
Cait starts drawing, but the pinging alerts are on the rise again.

Panel 2:
"I'm being helpful. I'm being helpful... I'm being helpful... I'm helpful... Helpful..."
She draws, trembling, as the alerts swell around her.

Quick charcoal Viktor portrait because I can't seem to stop drawing him [ #arcane #viktor #sketchbook #fanart #art ]

A black and white drawing depicting Viktor from Arcane. He looks to the side, expression neutral.
The rest of the page is filled with black ink, surrounded by a starry white washi tape.
I added chromatic aberration to the picture because why not

Digital illustration where Jayce and Viktor from Arcane are laying on the grass while holding hands. They are surrounded by trees and pink flowers. The scene feels dreamy, with a yellowy glow surrounding them
