Taking care of my mental health and personal sanity by blocking anyone who calls Lucanis' romance "a waste" because (insert aphobia)

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 14/01/2025

Veilguard spoilers but I'm replaying part of Veilguard to fix the fact that I never used Varric's mirror to make my rook canonically trans and to make it more fun I'm basically treating it as a time-loop happening in his head during the prison stuff

Veilguard might actually be the thing that convinces me to start really using Tumblr, I need somewhere to blab

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 13/01/2025

Reloading Veilguard 3 separate times to get every variation of my Rook and Lucanis reuniting

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 13/01/2025

I'm getting close to the end of Veilguard and I just had to send my sister this because I Know Things Now

A screenshot of a series of text messages. The first reads, "Just so you know: do not ask me any questions about the stuff that I've played today. Do not talk to me about Veilguard outside of your playing. Do not do anything that could possibly cause me to think about spoilers in a way that will cross the psychic link." The reply is the 😭 sobbing emoji. A second text from the initial sender has a photo of Elmo staring directly at the camera.

I need to know if House De Riva is like a large family or if it's basically just Viago and a Crow Rook or what. I know Viago and Teia are in some of the like Tevintor Nights stuff, but is that something anybody ever comments on. My lore brain is struggling.

I kind of want to start engaging more with the Veilguard fandom and stuff like the rqotd but it feels weird because I don't know much about the rest of Dragon Age as a franchise ngl

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 13/01/2025

I finally got to the end of Lucanis' quests which means my Rook has been to Villa Dellamorte which means I get to use that one storyboard about the hot springs as inspiration

I looked up like 3 Veilguard posts on Tumblr and now it's exclusively recommending me things tagged "datv critical" what did I do to deserve this

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 12/01/2025

Choosing between Harding and Bellara as a romance route for my new rook is way, way harder than I expected it to be, ngl

120

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 12/01/2025

Lucanis just asked my Rook "what did I do to deserve you" and I've never clipped something so fucking fast oh my God

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 11/01/2025

I love Morrigan's voice so much, the way the actress talks is so nice

010

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

I made the mistake of letting my sister give me caffeinated tea and now I'm half asleep, Lucanis would be horrified

120

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

I've gotten so used to calling my Rook by his name that I keep forgetting to write the companions as calling him Rook😭 Especially Lucanis

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

"They won't complain" says the master assassin with knives, poisons, and a demon. yeah I bet they won't.

A screenshot of the lock-in for Lucanis Dellamorte's romance in Dragon Age: the Veilguard. A custom Rook is standing across from Lucanis, who has his back turned to the camera. Lucanis' subtitle reads, "Lucanis: they won't complain." There are four options the player can choose, reading, "You're sweet, you know," "you're too talented," "we don't pay you enough," and "thank you."

120

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

Another reason I love Lucanis is that his love language feels like gift giving (knives, baked goods, drinks,) and as another gift giver I appreciate it

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 10/01/2025

I started organizing the stuff I've written about my Rook, sorting everything by what I think is in-character versus what's just me having fun, and I've written 17,299 words of fic in the 2 weeks I've had this game😭 The brainrot is rotting I think

A screenshot of a calculator's results. It's partly cut off, with part of the equation on the screen, reading, "+ 8027," with the result "17,299" below it.

I need to either get more of my friends into Veilguard or get more active in the fandom because I have so many thoughts and no one to yell about them with

Lucanis Dellamorte First Talon Assassin Rogue #dragonage | #veilguard | #tarot | #art

Dragon Age Veilguard tarot inspired illustration by Dora Ingrid, featuring Lucanis Dellamorte, an antivan crow rogue, standing on the right side of the painting, turned to face the left. There's a purple smoke covering the bottom of the painting, flowing upwards in the corner. There's traces of the same purple coloured smoke manifesting on the right shoulder, flowing out of the border. The colour scheme is purple/blue with flat white patterns.

I feel like I need to write an essay on Cassian's characterization so that I really know him and have everything laid out clearly now that I'm going into the final stretch of the game and will be making big, key decisions

What if I swapped. To a layout of my Rook instead

I just assumed Ossuary meant like some sort of animal enclosure or something, why the hell did I not know it was a tomb

A screenshot of two google search results for dictionary definitions of Ossuary. The first is from the dictionary.cambridge.org, which reads, "meaning of Ossuary in English" and "a place where the bones of dead people are kept: the bones are sometimes removed to an Ossuary to make more room in the cemetery." The second is from Merriam-Webster.com and reads, "Ossuary definition & meaning" and "the meaning of OSSUARY is a depository for the bones of the dead."

Lucanis bristles multiple times during dialogue about making and keeping promises. His is the only romance you actively choose to keep pursuing twice in the same conversation. He opens basically when you have closed all other possibilities. He is the heir apparent to essentially royalty, but-

Thinking about my Rook and Lucanis forcing each other to live through fights by framing it as a contract. Crows never fail contracts, so they have to live for each other.

I love how genuine all of the companions' relationships with each other feel in veilguard tbh, it's really nice to see them bonding outside of my Rook and having real conversations and stuff

Resisting the urge to play the next Lucanis side quest because I'm pretty sure it's the last one and I'll miss him so much afterwards

I think a key part of my Rook's characterization is that at his core, he's ABBA-coded

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

I need to lean more into the fact that Lucanis and my Rook are assassins. They must have the weirdest love languages

110

August ☀️ @dawnorchid.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

I'm sorry wait Varric's mirror lets you openly comment on your Rook's gender identity if you interact with it while placing it in the room?? And I skipped over it by mistake??🧍
