Had a great time driving down with @dawmino.bsky.social to his hometown and back. On the way back, I stopped just about every mom and pop comic book shop I could find. Found some real "funny animal" gems and some great people. Support your local comic show and don't pass up the budget bins!

Besides the need for a longer ethernet cable, my PC is now all set up over here and all devices tested working. The sweat is wiped from my brow! Once the new net cable is here, I'll hit the ground running. Just with only one 1080p monitor, gross, disgusting. I'll survive somehow.

I have been having this EXACT problem on my new meds. One dream was some sickass Fight Club Academia Megastructure World where instead of homework you beat on rival megaschools with nailbats. Other ones involve unreadable paperwork multiplying in my lap while everyone else is done and leaving.

Gameplay is 6/10, but the art and writing are top notch. I wish I felt more like messing with their AI setups, but it's not really necessary to do much besides buy a handful of items and press the "optimize" buttons. The composition of units and where and when to move them is the meat of it.

Tomorrow, I prep for my grand family visit where I'll grind out as much game development in 3 months as possible while chilling with the folks. It should be relaxing, but it's also a make-it-or-break-it situation for my game. I gotta get a shit ton done, BUT I'll have fewer distractions or expenses.

Yeah cause the point is to make more money from my work, not less.

One compromise I think I can handle is to have a public-facing schedule and self-reporting of work done per week as a way to keep me honest and make it feel more like a "job" that keeps me accountable and motivated. But the idea of adding extra work on top is just *pfft* nope. I am already at extra.

My work is NOT EVEN REMOTELY financially sustainable and it has caused a lot of problems for me. So I'm struggling to come up with ways that this can make decent income to live on beyond just direct commissions.

If I make a Patreon, it would have to have no posts, rewards or perks, just pay me to exist knowing full well I'm still going to draw boobs, bellies, and do gamedev. That's the only way I can see it working. I hated doing reward doodles, it burned me out so bad and kept me from doing other things.

I sympathize with your tragic situation, truly. But there is no logical thread between going through that and decrying the support for FA, a site that benefits many people and thus has more exposure. It is very, VERY rare for individuals to find the kind of support you sought, even when so deserved.

I understand your frustration. I've personally donated to trans-benefitting charities here in Texas, as well as subbing to FA+. We can all walk and chew gum. But keep in mind that donating to individuals over social media has a high risk for scamming, so many people will avoid that.

I actually won my first two standard matches in Deadlock. Turns out if you know how to lead your aim, you can be very, very annoying to the enemy team. Now if only I can get the game to not crash... Speaking of wide-roster shooters... how is Overwatch lately? Haven't tried that since before "2".

I played some Deadlock yesterday, and it is fun actually. BUT I have not tried a standard match yet. Mostly doing co op bot stomps to get a feel for it before subjecting others to my lack of skill.

Yeah, the physics and gear loadout variety truly make each match unique in a way I've never seen in a game. It's chaotic and exciting! I'm looking forward to the upgrade to the physics coming, just saw their new video on it.

Something that sucks about The Finals (video game) is if you try to search anything about it you just get random sports news. They really fucked up naming it that. I wish they'd get rid of the AI voices so I don't feel guilty recommending it. It's genuinely a smooth game. Crazy destruction physics.
