New paper out 📄 Generating graphs with realistic degree distributions, clustering, and community structures is challenging — but important for modeling dynamics on networks. We present a method to build graphs with arbitrary mesoscale structures, degree sequences and global clustering coefficient.

From latent space to real-world networks — we’ve got the structure you need! In this preprint, we introduce a new methodology for generating graphs with arbitrary community structures in one-dimensional Euclidean space. That’s right — it’s everything you need.

Is it time for us—scientists, PhDs, PostDocs, and others—to be more welcoming? Great post by @kmpanthagani.bsky.social on the impact of the word “misinformation.” I believe we should go further: listen, be welcoming, and engage in dialogue. It takes time, but in my view, it’s the only viable option.

David Cope, a pioneer in computer-generated music, passed away on May 4. His "Experiments in Musical Intelligence" reshaped how we think about creativity and, perhaps, AI. Read about his legacy and listen to EMI's compositions here: substack.com/home/post/p-... @melaniemitchell.bsky.social

Think a balanced diet and exercise alone can keep infectious diseases at bay? Think again. History proves otherwise. @kmpanthagani.bsky.social explains why abandoning the tools that protect us is a risk we can't afford to take. Read more: yourlocalepidemiologist.substack.com/p/the-rise-o...

#numbers 2025 is a perfect square. Didn't occur since 1936 and won’t until 2116. Adding 1 to each digit gives a perfect square- 25 is the only smaller integer with this property It is sum of cubes of the first 9 integers and the square of their sum 1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³=(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9)²
