This is probably the most important video I've made in ages. Micromobility riders are currently being targeted by the NYPD and brutally cracked down on with criminal summonses. The police simply don't understand the issue and they aren't the right tool anyway... www.reddit.com/r/Micromobil...

From the MicromobilityNYC community on Reddit: NYPD crackdowns are a stupid solution to a real problem (micromobility generally ignoring traffic signals.) Here is the actual solution:

I’ve learned a lot about urbanism from Passeig de Sant Joan (Barcelona) alone. Ample outdoor dining, plants, benches for the public instead of countless car lanes.

Now would be a good time for left and democrat leaders to offer solutions and visions, aside from being “not Trump.”

Trump’s department of transportation says they will “identify and eliminate Biden era activities that promote climate change activism.” This is the transportation sector. The #1 contributor to climate change.

Great read by @doctorvive.bsky.social in @newrepublic.com on how, actually, we can’t afford NOT to take serious climate action. A standout quote for me… “Without accounting for the Earth system, our economy functions more like a Ponzi scheme…” newrepublic.com/article/1905...

Climate Change Could Cut the Economy in Half. We’re Not Ready for It.

A new study suggests global warming’s effect on GDP has been vastly underestimated. Will it finally break through the religion of infinite growth?

I just finished the Open Veins of Latin America, a classic on how LATAM has been exploited by Europe and the US. “Underdevelopment in Latin America is a consequence of development elsewhere.” #booksky #nodeportations

“American Energy” or “Homegrown Energy” are the latest terms in the fossil fuel propaganda playbook to justify destroying the environment for profit. #propaganda #climatechange

Here’s a reminder that driving and fossil fuel infrastructure is the real “government handout,” to the tune of $20 billion/year. (That’s a conservative estimate from the Environmental and Energy Study Institute.)

So the wicked witch stood up for oppressed groups and was branded as evil by the government and mainstream media. This is a familiar story to leftist political groups. #wickedmovie #wicked

Congestion pricing is going to launch in NYC and suburbanites are up an arms they won't be able to drive their death machines and pollute the city without paying a $9 toll. Maybe a few of them will discover carpooling and make some friends. I truly wish that for them.
