My long term version of the same oscillator. Normal has a 10-Day lookback, longer term has a 30-Day lookback. 4%

Combined NYSE and NASDAQ A/D Line and SPX. Yes, there are issues with the NASDAQ A/D line over time (it is trash) but you can see how the market shifted hard since 2021

Some breadth charts, and in case you have missed it breadth has been trash for a while now....and yet the SP500 is just off ATH's NYSE A/D Line

Sorry this is a few days late but Tuesday was the 10th anniversary of the August 11th 2016 Ruby Tuesday earnings call. That is the call where Buddy Fox called in and asked how the murder of Harambe affected the restaurant during Q2 of that year. #MarketHistory

If you go down the Niederhoffer rabbit hole-and it is a deep and interesting one-you will no doubt read about some risk management miscues, but don't let that stop you from learning a lot and just enjoying it all. He is a legend and one of the more interesting men in the world.

His trading legacy-I dont know him or his family irl so I cant speak on that-he was the Tiger of quant trading. The Spec Cubs-if you will-include a long list of successful traders. Best known are his brother Roy, Monroe Trout, Toby Crabel, but if you dig you will find a LOT more

As the Opalesque obit mentions he has hosted the site dailyspeculations.com/wordpress/ for ages. It has tons of good stuff on trading, life, and other things. He had a lot of interests, a lot of friends, and they ranged across all fields.

He wrote a lot but he has two books Education of a Speculator is pure gold. One of the better books I have ever read. Practical Speculation-Somewhere between his philosophy and a how to book, it is more a study of how to go about quantifying things.

RIP Vic Niederhoffer One of the more colorful people we've had in this business. An OG quant, ran $ for Soros, and had a long list of successful traders that spent time in his shop over the years. Also a fantastic writer and tweeter We are diminished www.opalesque.com/715778/Victo...

in chart #2-ISM-PMI and SOX/SPX Ratio YoY you can see the full history of the indicator. Last time we were at current levels was in the dot com days. Not saying we need a dot com style crash from here, just that we are indeed in rarified air.

As opposed to the previous two charts this one is using monthly data so the SOX/SPX Ratio YoY is using the end of June and won't update for a few days.

Haven't posted these on here for a few months SOX/SPX Ratio YoY is usually a leading indicator on both daily and monthly time frames, and it usually leads both the market, PMI, and actual semi-billings. But its record is better leading the market vs the billings.

Once someone writes the book about Richard Rainwater I would love it if they went down the William Berkley rabbit hole as well he pops up regularly in the 70's, 80's, and 90's but only as a paragraph here and there. From what I have gathered he crushed it

I choose to believe that Nolan did Oppenheimer first and then Odyssey because he was inspired by Leon Levy.
