Two different teams with beautiful and timeless uniforms are choosing to instead wear gray garbage today. What are we doing...

The Texans' new alternate Rivalry uniforms being nearly exactly same as the Titans' new primary road uniforms (which they stole from Houston) is utterly insane. The NFL should have stepped in to prevent this.

A day after losing for the 1st time since 2012, the U.S. men's flag football team is trailing Japan late in the quarterfinals at the world flag championships. The U.S. has won 5 straight world titles before this. www.youtube.com/live/30DiXlg...

Bills now with 2 of the most pointless uniforms in NFL history. Willfully chipping away at one of sports' underrated brand identities with this crap.

Most people will say "what changed??" and those people probably have the correct perspective. But as a uniform and design obsessive, I am so relieved to see yet another NFL team ditch all the dumb shit that Nike put in their last uniforms.

The spear wouldn't go through a folded W like that. Maybe not surprising for a team that put the wrong Super Bowl years in a logo during its last redesign phase, but someone probably should have spoken up here.

The Titans' new jerseys leaked. Think you can ignore the weird AI watermark. I believe the person is just using a weird camera app. Everything suggests these are the real deal.

Completely ridiculous patch situation. Imagine if the Seahawks weren't one of the few teams that forego captain patches.

Are owners just allergic to doing work? Are they at such an elite level in society that they don't know how to pick up a phone and call some candidates to interview? This trend of firing the HC but keeping the obviously lame-duck GM to lead the search for the next HC is so dumb.

I can't take major issue with any of Caio's Rivalries uniform rankings here, but I will say that the Cardinals are the only team to show us something that's clearly an upgrade on their normal uniforms. That counts for something thescore.com/nfl/news/332...

Feels like a desperate regime that plans to leave Rd 1 with Adbul Carter & also a QB - probably Sanders - via trading up for another 1st. Wonder if they're desperate enough to get to Carolina at 8.

The Titans announcing a switch to luv ya blue primary uniforms and slipping in that they will no longer wear Oilers throwbacks (which they only broke out vs. Houston in a pathetically bush league move) suggests to me that the NFL stepped in and told them to cut it out.

... does anyone actually want Aaron Rodgers?

000

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 10/03/2025

We are witnessing history unfold in front of our eyes, folks. Darnold to Seahawks, Fields to Jets, and (probably) Russ to Giants and Rodgers to Steelers is a run of depressing QB signings that may never be topped.

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 10/03/2025

Not much in this crazy world of ours makes less sense than paying $100M to put Sam Darnold behind no O-line with no receivers

Hesitant to say anything positive because it doesn't seem like we can have anything nice anymore, but this is really a dream scenario for migrating sports people away from Twitter to where they need to be

010

The risk of injury (which is way lower in flag football) and some scheduling conflicts with training camp are absolutely idiotic reasons to pass up the best free global marketing the NFL will ever have.

The $ is prob a lot better, and there are only 32 of these jobs on the planet, but this seems like a dumb decision. Moore's star is rising fast off the SB and he could delay this move to find a truly great spot, like Ben Johnson. Instead he'll burn his one chance at a HC job in a hopeless situation.

Not too late for Kellen Moore to back out of the Saints' HC job and pull a Ben Johnson in search of a real HC job in a year's time.

Brady set one of the most unbreakable records in sports with 7 rings, and it'll be almost immediately broken. Not every one of Mahomes' rings will be an all-time classic. Gotta grind out some less memorable ones to get to record territory. This year is gonna be one of those.

000

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 27/01/2025

Maybe the Patriots were smart to constantly push the annoying and untrue narrative that the entire world including the NFL head office was biased against them. Because the alternative untrue narrative of the NFL rigging things in the Chiefs' favor is even more annoying.

120

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 26/01/2025

Chiefs-Eagles in the Super Bowl for the 2nd time in 3 years (with a halftime show that might be great but probably has less mainstream appeal than many) seems like a recipe for the TV ratings to dip more than a little.

Mike Vrabel called what might objectively be the worst punt in NFL history - in a playoff game, no less. I don't think he gets *it* I understand his teams (mostly just his defenses) overachieved somewhat regularly, but I'm not sure he's the ultra-strong coaching candidate many seem to see.

Wilkins' mock draft is good so go read it. But what has me excited for this draft szn is I think there's a chance neither he nor ESPN (who also put up a mock today) nor anyone else has any real idea who'll go No. 1. Could be a name that's not even in mocks right now. thescore.com/nfl/news/318...

Potentially more movement at the top of the draft today with the Giants up on the Colts. Pats would leap Giants for the 1st pick. Not sure that's as important as it seems, as I'm less and less convinced this is a year where anyone trades up for a QB.

There have been five 235-yard receiving performances this decade -269 by Tyreek Hill in 2020 -Twice by Ja'Marr Chase -Twice by Browns receivers after Deshaun Watson suffered season-ending injuries

The first round of fantasy football drafts in 2025 is as unsettled as it's been in a while. I guess we know most of the players, but good luck putting them in any specific order.

100

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 01/12/2024

Zero upside and immense downside for the unpaid Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to see the field again this season. I expect we'll hear about some sore hamstrings this week.

000

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 01/12/2024

Revising QB slide rules should be a priority. Trev is a worst-case scenario, but we see defenders dive in like this every week; they just don't always connect. Any avoidable hit on a sliding QB should be a suspension. Gotta protect your big stars. And fake slides need to be illegal, too.

000

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 01/12/2024

The NFL cannot allow headhunting hits like this on sliding QBs to continue. Suspend this guy for the rest of the season. Gotta protect the game's star players from garbage like this.

000

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 25/11/2024

Why on earth would Trevor Lawrence play again this year? Sounds like he clearly needs surgery, so have it ASAP! The coach is fired no matter what. Don't delay your offseason availability for a new HC. Any wins take you out of range of the No. 1 pick and the chance to trade for a haul. Silly stuff.

020

David P. Woods @davidpwoods.com · 24/11/2024

These Colts alternate uniforms are obviously very ugly and bad, but I want to highlight that some players have two slightly different 'C' patches as a particularly stupid design element.

Jags tried to avoid paying Urban Meyer his guarantees after firing him in '21, and took months to reach a settlement. Wonder if that's what's holding up the blindingly obvious Doug Pederson firing. Hoping he quits or does something to be fired for cause? Or just trying to nickle and dime his payout?
