Once you learn about toponymy you'll never look at the names of places the same ever again.

If you stare at the word 'Mississippi' long enough it completely loses its meaning

It was nearly twenty years ago that I got my start in the game industry, working for @bethesdastudios.com on Oblivion. This game is near and dear to my heart and I am so excited for everyone to be able to experience the remaster. 🤘

“Rest, take it easy” “But try to move as much as possible” “That said, limit how long you stand or sit” “Also, keep your feet elevated” Ok doc, sounds like learning how to fly is in order

Hot pockets: Microwave 30 seconds, flip, and heat an additional 30 seconds. Allow to cool for 45 minutes, or when nuclear fusion halts, whichever happens first.

There’s no award for the fastest burnout either.

Awards that do not exist (and you're trying to win anyways):
Most perfect.
Never said no.
Rested the least.
Didn't need help.
Worked the longest.
Didn't make any mistakes.
Lived up to everyone's expectations.

Self-driving is already here, and has been a long time. It’s a bus driver, or a train conductor.

Also often true in game design. If you just explain a game mechanic, the player will struggle to recall, but if they figure it out through experimentation and clear feedback, it'll stick. I call this "sparky design": given 2 rocks to bang together, they get sparks, then they set the world on fire.

As I work for Microsoft (indirectly), totally fine with me. 😃 I’ll check it out, thank you!

I need a personal knowledge base app that sits somewhere just north of what Obsidian offers, and far south of Confluence. If Obsidian would somehow allow nesting notes under notes, a la Confluence, that would be the ideal.

Mind-blowing that you can download the entirety of English language Wikipedia (with images) and host it yourself with only ~100GB of space.

Important caveat: This assumes that the estimated MSRP of $50k as noted by Car and Driver holds true. Guess we'll see.

Held off from buying an EV up until now, but if the production model of the Honda Saloon ends up looking ANYTHING like the most recent versions at CES, I think it'll be my first. What a design! Totally not for everyone, but the retro-futurism is 100% my jam. www.caranddriver.com/honda/saloon

I unfortunately didn't have another spool of the same filament handy. BUT! It did prompt me to just put another spool of any type in the same AMS slot, and it resumed without a hitch! Since the visible side of the print was on the bed side, it ended up not mattering. Bambu / AMS is awesome!

...I'll be doing some unfollowing in order to steer clear of current events. There are a lot of things going on right now that are important to many and deserve to be signal-boosted, I'm just not in a position to consume that content right now. It's absolutely not personal. 2/3

Something I'm trying to be more intentional about than I was on Facebook is my overall mental health. To that end, I'm trying to cultivate a feed that predominantly feeds me as a creator and a person instead of draining my energy with things that I find difficult or upsetting. To that end... 1/2

Thinking a lot lately about the idea of “authorial voice” and “system rhetoric” in game design. What are we saying about the world (however indirectly) through our mechanics and systems? (From: How and Why We Make Games, Marta Fijak and Artur Ganszyniec)
