Pierre-Auguste Renoir's “Bal du Moulin de la Galette” (1876) is set in a bustling outdoor dance hall in Montmartre in the heart of Paris. It depicts a typical Sunday afternoon when working-class Parisians dressed up and danced, drank and ate there into the evening.
