Filmed being inside the automatic car wash today. Quite exhilarating. At the end looms the Dryer of Doom.

They could have had even more fun with this, esp. the Netherworld & tease the arrival of BJ. Ultimately rather forced and could easily lose 20 mins. There are frustrating teasers of Danny Elfman's score, so I recommend just stick to the film. I did enjoy that Anish Kapoor exhibition though.

But ultimately, unmemorable songs blasted out in that 'aren't we lyrically clever' style, but you can't actually hear the words. The only songs that work are the Belafonte classics.

In case you're desperate to know what I thought. I think my eager anticipation right up until curtain up was #Beetlejuice the Musical's saving grace. Some spectacular staging, although rather traditional & clunky (front cloth, scene change, front cloth, scene change ...)

Pre-show staging at Prince Edward Theatre London for Beetlejuice the Musical, showing a vibrant coloured front-cloth and the words Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse in a neon style, with a large arrow pointing down, as depicted in original film.

Nottingham Castle needs to shout more about its rock legend visitors. Dylan of course in 1966, but reading Chris Frantz's memoir, there's also Talking Heads & The Ramones in 1977. All probably wondering where the actual castle is.

Hoping for clear skies later so we can add a new #SolarEclipse photo to our collection. Like this one that Tom Kent took 114 years ago of a solar eclipse over Kirkwall #Orkney in April 1912. Taken 2 days after the sinking of the Titanic. Archives are amazing. ❤️

A black and white archive photograph showing the silhouette of the spire of St Magnus Cathedral and a partial eclipse of the sun in the sky above it.
