David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 07/10/202619th book of the year, the 6th book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. Eoin Colfer does a decent job of following on from Douglas Adams but its sadly nothing more than that for me 000
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 19/09/202618th book of the year, part 3 of 'The Book of Dust', Philip Pullmans sequel to His Dark Materials (one of the best things I've read). My main problem with this is that it follows the previous book immediately and I regretted not re-reading that first. Spent too much of it trying to remember that 100

David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 17/08/2026How is this easier? Previously - read whats written on card, go to parcel. Now, scan QR code on phone, open link, enter code, confirm delivery address, go to parcel. A totally unnecersary 'improvememt' #RoyalMail 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 09/08/202617th book of the year, the 23rd discworld book. It's Witches vs Vampires in Discworld. Less laugh out loud moments than usual from Pratchett, but a much better story for me 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Books 12-16 of the year - the classic Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy saga, all 5 books that Douglas Adams wrote. Whenever I've read/watched/listened to any of this, it always makes me laugh 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Has anyone told the Tour De France that ITV are (sadly) no longer covering it? From their live tracking page 🤔 #TdF2026 #letour 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 28/06/202611th book of the year, the 22nd Discworld book. And easily the poorest Discworld book so far. It's basically the Wizards go to Australia, and that was about it. What plot there was just seemed a series of parodies of Australia and its culture and nothing more. Disappointing 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 12/06/202610th book of the year, this is a book by John Le Carre's son set in the same world as many of Le Carre's other books. My biggest problem with this was that it assumed you'd read the other books. It referred to events and characters from them without explaining things. A frustrating read due to that 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 31/05/2026Think its fair to say we've got better as the games gone on. Awful in first 30, brilliant in 2nd half at times #ManCity 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 31/05/2026Not entirely sure how we're 1 up as we've been awful so far #ManCity 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 31/05/2026For the 19th time to see @mancity.com , 1st to see the women's team..... #ManCity 000
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 24/05/2026Today reallly did feel like the end of an era. Saying goodbye to 3 coaches, 4 players and our greatest manager at the same time.... #ManCity 000
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 24/05/2026For the last time to see a team built by arguably the greatest manager of all time #ManCity 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 21/05/20269th book of the year, a classic football book that isn't really about dutch football, it's more about trying to understand the Dutch people 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 16/05/2026and Greece for Cyprus. A truly shocking development 🤣 000
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 04/05/20268th Book of the year, another Discworld book, the 21st in the series Another decent Discworld book, though nothing more than that. This time Ankh-Morpork goes to war.... sort of 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 23/04/20267th book of the year, the 5th book in the Dune saga Another good one in the saga, with multiple factions battling for control. Though at times it was difficult to follow who was on which side 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 06/04/202677 mins gone and we have a tactical timeout aka Keeper 'injury' #ManCity 000
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 05/04/2026Bernardo Silva is a @mancity.com legend. Not least for this moment.... 041
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 20/03/20266th book of the year, a rarity from John Grisham - a book featuring no lawyers or courtrooms! Its a story about a cotton harvest in 1950's Arkansas told through the eye's of a 7-year old who sees events which expose him to the realities of life. Enjoyed this, found it surprisingly moving at times 110
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 12/03/20265th book of the year, another Discworld book, the 20th in the series. This is Pratchett's idea of a Christmas story, featuring Death pretending to be Father Christmas (or the Hogfather as he's known in Discworld). As amusing as it is ludicrous at times. 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 27/02/20264th book read this year, a look at @mancity.com's recent history from the fans POV by @domfarrell.bsky.social. Its the 1st book I've read that attempts this. As a City fan, I know there is a lot of complexity to this due to many off field issue's. This doesn't ignore them and is well worth a read 210
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 13/02/20263rd book read this year, Marcus Trescothick's autobiography. I've a lot of books and occasionally red one I've not read in years to decide if to keep it or not. This is a superb book, well worth a read but I doubt I'll read it again as its about 18 years old now. So will donate it to a charity shop 110
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 28/01/20262nd book read this year. Another Discworld book, the 19th in the series - Feet of Clay by Terry Pratchett. I've been working through the Discworld books in between other books. Enjoyed this more than a few of the recent one's, some genuinely laugh out loud moments in it. 110
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 25/01/2026After yesterday, if the women can win this one the gap is starting to look very nice for @mancity.com. Long way to go, but a good start 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 25/01/2026Sometimes its clear the media needs to re-learn the basics 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 11/01/2026First book read this year is The Accidental Tour-ist by @nedboulting.bsky.social. An amusing ramble through his years as a cycling commentator. Enjoyable but always with that nagging cloud that I'm going to miss his work on ITV at the Tour De France in July. ITV's coverage was brilliant 110
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 29/12/202521st book of the year The book that may have been the first, great cyberpunk novel. Still great today 000
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 06/12/202520th book of the year Another discworld book, the 18th in the series. Struggled a bit with this, found the plot a bit more confused than usual from Pratchett 100
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 05/12/2025Started putting up the Christmas decorations the same time the draw started. Finished before a single team drawn (apart from the hosts) #GetOnWithIt #WorldCupDraw 020
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 03/12/2025The answer to this was posted on the other site. 6th fastest all-time, fastest since WW2, just ridiculous #ManCity 010
David Lamb @davidlamb.bsky.social · 26/11/202519th book of the year Another science fiction classic, which was adapted into a great film. And a rarity where, although there are significant differences between the two, I'm not sure which is better - the book or the film? 110
