With all the discourse about Digger the last few days, I’ve seen people saying that Mulholland Drive was a divisive movie that grew into its masterpiece status. That is not how I remember it. We knew it was masterpiece as we were watching it. The impact was immediate.

It's going to be structurally odd. I'm reading the book the biopics are based on and it's Pete Best through the first part of the book and his arc is maybe more interesting than Ringo's but he's not getting a movie

How are movie theaters going to screen the Beatles biopics if they're all released the same day? A single screen for all four and then show them one right after another? I can see my local ten-screener being okay with John and Paul biopics but not too crazy about booking the George and Ringo biopics

I'm old enough to remember a time when I'd be standing in line to see a movie I wanted to see while there'd be other people in line perusing the showtimes to see whatever was about to start. That never happens anymore

Did Hitchcock do any proper street driving? I might have read somewhere his driving was limited to doing circles around his house.

A few people I follow logged it. But I just looked at Digger for a comparison and it's got about ten times as many logs from people I follow lol

I'm reading JG Ballard's final book, Kingdom Come. And it's more than likely I had a small hand in it. The book was written 20 years ago and is about a man looking into his father's death in a shooting incident at a shopping centre. The opening paragraph is excellent...

It was an interesting documentary but it doesn’t make me want to watch Heretic again. It’s crazy the studio gave John Boorman total license to make such a weird sequel to one of the most popular films ever.

They should’ve kept that title because Other Mommy is a pretty silly title I watched The Social Network last week. The first time since it was released. And I was blown away by how good it is.

The trailer must have gotten a lot of people to go see it and after they'd seen it, they felt like they got ripped off. btw I liked The Social Reckoning though. I think you have to forget The Social Network completely and think of The Social Reckoning as something completely different.
