I forget where I originally saw this, but it's one of my absolute favorite memes. #MathSky #iTeachMath #MathMemes #ScienceMemes

I know @miniminuteman.bsky.social does a lot of conspiracy theory debunking, but I've got one that's irrefutable. Milo is actually the fictional character Casey Jones played by Elias Koteas brought to reality by ancient alien-druid magic. #conspiracytheory

People of #sciart I am desperately trying to find the original artist who made this masterpiece, but I find my forensic art skills are lacking a bit. Can anyone track down who the original artist of this is?

I really want to start an archive of all the times Google's AI overview missed the context entirely, maybe get something going like #GoogleMissedTheContext. To those curious, I was wondering how to do pencil smudging on the reMarkable drawing tablet. You missed the mark, Google 🤦. #sciart #art #ai

I took this a while ago at the Hirshfeld-Dowd Observatory at UMass Dartmouth with my daughter. I wanted to post this tonight because of something about wrapping presents for her and Santa flying through the sky and the stars being visible and… and… whatever here's the moon 😝 🧪 🔭 #SciComm #SciArt

Here's some art I made for my website. It's my first time really being expressive, using math or otherwise, so please let me know what you all think! I wrote a short, qualitative description of the underlying mathematics; you can read more about it here: wp.me/PgcDuC-2O #Art #SciArt 🧮 ♾️ #scicomm

Give me a single screenshot from a video game that immediately makes you hear the soundtrack in your head.

Hot Take: I can't say how much I really dislike AI art (or at least how it pervasively permeates the Internet). I was Googling something related to Isaac Newton and one of the featured images was this. Granted I can't be 100% in saying it's AI, but it reeks of that "AI-style", has no… (1/5)

I would have never in a million years anticipated this to be the first/best comment to this #Reddit post concerning a random #ecology question that I also had. 🫤 If anyone in the fields of #ecology, #zoology, #MarineEcology wants to chime in about a better answer 😅, I'd greatly appreciate it! 🌍 🧪 🌳
Title: are there two species of animals that prey on each other?

Body: I'm curious if there are 2 totally different species of animals that prey on each other. I supposed humans and sharks is one example. But are there examples that do not include humans? Clarification: I'm not talking about cannibalism where members of the same species prey on each other.Dogs and cats cannot marry because marriage is a human social institution that involves legal and cultural aspects. Marriage is a legally recognized union between two consenting individuals, typically based on mutual love, companionship, and the intention to build a life together. It is a concept that exists within human society and is not applicable to animals. Dogs and cats, being different species, have distinct natural behaviors, instincts, and means of reproduction. While they can form social bonds and relationships with each other, their interactions are primarily driven by instincts, companionship, and hierarchy rather than the concept of marriage as understood by humans. Marriage, as a legal and social institution, is specific to human culture and is not applicable or relevant to the natural behaviors and relationships of animals. Animals have their own ways of forming social connections and reproducing, which may vary between species. It's important to recognize and respect the unique characteristics and behaviors of different animals and not impose human concepts, such as marriage, onto them.

I was watching a Neil Degrasse Tyson video that referenced the Dunning-Kruger and showed this graph on the screen. It was about four years ago when I learned that the Dunning-Kruger effect is way different and way more technical that what we colloquially identify it as. (See comment ref) #Science
