My latest Guardian long read is about the people trying to get their ideas into Britain’s new government and whether Burnham is really prepared to be that radical. Grateful to the many people who spoke to me for this - read it online or in Saturday’s paper: www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...

The long read: The new prime minister has declared he wants to end 40 years of neoliberalism. But is he really prepared to be that radical?

I know this isn't terrorism. You know this isn't terrorism. The authorities know this isn't terrorism. But, once again, they have labelled protesters "terrorists", as part of the long-running programme to ensure that no one dares protest about anything any more. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Honestly very difficult to accurately convey what a political and ethical revolution it is just to have a prime minister even speak about carers with such insight and passion, emphasising not just their dedication but their *skill*, and the way that skill encompasses the physical and the emotional.
