In particular, the Committee did not have access to numerous essential witnesses, including Alexander Nix, a non-U.S. citizen who generally disregarded the Committee's requests for an appearance, and Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, who exercised his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. architects need goldberger’s praise so bad bc he really knows how to cut em www.nytimes.com/2026/03/21/u...
Still, the ballroom remains enormous and the tweaks have done little to silence opponents.
Paul Goldberger, a former architecture critic for The New York Times and The New Yorker and the author of "Why Architecture Matters," called the ballroom "a huge, dumb box" in a Times op-ed article last week. He added that it was "nominally designed" by Mr. Baranes "but for all intents and purposes designed by Mr. Trump."
Mr. Goldberger, who also knows Mr. Baranes from Yale, added that he is well suited to the task because of his abilities with developers and is able to "produce work of whatever type in whatever style his clients want."
Mr. Baranes took offense. "That's kind of below the belt," he said. "All my work is very contemporary."
But the White House project is not contemporary at all. "I can't comment on that," Mr. Baranes said, mindful of his NDA.

That’s $90,000 per Tahoe before the ICE wrap. A base Tahoe MSRP is $63,495. The top trim High Country model with every option including Magnetic Ride Control is $86,495. Taxpayers enriched a campaign donor for about $650,000 of fleecing for ICE wrapped vehicles that will never be used.
Last November, the agency said it would spend $2.25 million to buy 25 Chevrolet Tahoes that would be emblazoned with ICE's new logo and
used for recruitment purposes as the agency moved to hire 10,000 new deportation officers following the several vehicles it debuted in August.
The Chevy contract was given to a prominent Republican donor, Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports in North Carolina. It was not completed, meaning that other companies were not allowed to offer proposals and prices that they could fulfill the order for.
An additional $174,000 to $230,000 was given to three companies to wrap the vehicles in their new markings.

Yale Student Paper on Gelertner’s epsteining and how his class “The User Interface” is going. Come transfer to Parsons y’all yaledailynews.com/articles/gel...
According to Ortiz and lecture slides that Rushmeier presented in Tuesday's class — visible to a News reporter through a classroom window — future lectures "will be video, guest lecturers, student
presentations." For most of the session, the class watched a video of an interview with Don Norman, a designer and professor emeritus of the University of California, San Diego.
Two of the students who spoke to the News said they had not seen Gelernter's Canvas announcement or another one by Rushmeier and were surprised when they walked in and saw Rushmeier teaching.
Kris Aziabor '26 and Joaquin Santoscoy-MacPhee '28, who are both in his class, said they found Gelernter's emails with Epstein and his subsequent defense of them shocking.
"I think it's very upsetting and disgusting," Santoscoy-MacPhee said.

There’s a surplus of reasons to delete TikTok. Always has. Always will. But don’t spread the latest privacy policy panic because it’s kinda misinformation. techcrunch.com/2026/01/23/t...
But despite the panic, this disclosure isn't new — and it doesn't mean what many users fear. The same language appeared in TikTok's privacy policy. before the ownership deal closed, and it's primarily there to comply with state privacy laws like California's Consumer Privacy Act, which requires companies to agree to disclose to consumers what
"sensitive information" is collected.
Similar disclosures appear in other social media apps' policies.

President Trump late Thursday night shared a video that contained a brief clip portraying former President Barack Obama and the former first lady Michelle Obama as apes.
The clip, set to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," was spliced near the end of a 62-second video that promoted conspiracy theories about anomalies in the 2020 presidential election.
The clip appeared to have been taken from a video that was shared in October by a user on X whose watermark is shown, with the caption "President Trump: King of the Jungle," and an emoji of a lion.
In that video, several high-profile Democrats
— including former U.S. secretary of state Hillary Clinton, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Mayor Zohran Mamdani of New York, former President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and former vice president Kamala Harris - were shown as zebras, girattes and other animals, while Mr.
Trump was depicted as a lion. The Obamas, in the clip, were shown as apes. The video ended with the animals bowing down to Mr.
Trump.

While she's alone in the car, the woman can be heard talking with other observers on speaker phone and she tells them to call 911.
The agents open the door, which unlocked automatically when she put the gearshift in park, they drag her out and force her to the ground. She said the agents were overly aggressive and physical as they pinned her down and handcuffed her, leaving her with multiple cuts, scrapes and bruises.

“The Presidency became the aim of each ambitious politician: to attain it, he had not only to adapt his principles to circumstances, but to obligate himself to every associate who might further his purposes; and, on attaining it,…
When the Presidency was first instituted, it was regarded as an agency for the execution of the popular will and the maintenance of the public interests. In this sense, the office was administered by its first incumbents. Later, it came to be considered more-and-more as an agency for satisfying the ambition of candidates and the greed of party-managers. At the beginning, the victors gained the honor of advancing the welfare of the people: later, they felt no shame in proclaiming and practising the scandalous maxim, — "To the victor belong the spoils". The "Fathers of the Republic" became the fathers of plunderers. Principles, which formerly determined the formation of parties, came to serve as bait for votes: the main object of leaders and managers came to be,--booty. The Presidency became the aim of each ambitious politician: to attain it, he had not only to adapt his principles to circumstances, but to obligate himself to every associate who might further his purposes; and, on attaining it, he had to give the offices, on whose proper administration the weal of the land depends, first—-not to those who would best serve the people, but to those who had best served him. Thus, the whole struggle for the Chief Magistracy of the Republic became a strife for prey, or a bargain in which self-interest took the place of the public interests, and in which intrigue and corruption were the most efficient agencies. The struggle being over, however, and the victor installed, the preparations for its re-iteration at once begin. All the power and patronage at the disposal of

Impeachment doesn’t work. They knew.
The only constitutional remedy against the abuse of an executive power, second in extent and influence to no royal power on earth, is that of impeachment. Yet, on its very first trial, this remedy did not only prove useless, but was received with derision and defiance by him against whom it had been directed. That trial has justified the worst fears which prevailed, concerning the impotence of the Legislature as against the Executive; it has revealed how far the President of this republic may carry his arrogance, his unscrupulousness, his caprice, his lawlessness, his usurpation, without being called to account therefor; it has exhibited how much mischief--ab-use--insult-the people of a republic may have to suffer froin their so-called servant, without any practicable means of legal redress; it has proved that, in practice, the President is " unimpeachable", like a constitutional king--without having, like him, a responsible ministry; it has not only authorized Andrew Johnson to repeat all hig previous misdeeds, but encouraged him to exceed even these, hereafter; finally it has set to each one of his successors a precedent, relieving them, at the outset, of any scruples regarding excessive assumption of power. Since the actions which Andrew Johnson has committed could not bring-about his removal from office, it ap-

REGARDING THE
ABOLITION OF THE PRESIDENCY.
THERE can be bat two, principially consistent, systems of government,-Abso.
Inte Monarely, and Absolute Democracy.
Any form of government, intermediate between these extremes, is an untenable compromise and must, sooner or later, revert into the one or advance into the other.
Absolute Monarehy allows no rights to the governed, and concentrates all
power-legislative, executive, and judicial-in the person of the monarch.
The
empire of King
Theodorus is its latest pattern.
The development of
kind tending, however, toward Democracy; and, Absolute Monarchy being unable to, permanently, either suppress or satisfy that tendency; Monarchy was compel-led, in the course of events, to concede more-or-less of its ground to Democracy.
Aud the latter-being yet undeveloped, and too weak to neutralize the former by totally abolishing the monarchial system-contented itself with those concessions, which consisted in a "partition of powers". Hence, the origin of "constitational monarchy". Since Montesquieu, Europe treasured this idea as the political philos. ophers'-stone'; whereas it is but a deceptive compromise between two opponents who pretend to aspire to a common end, while the contrast of their natures compels them to a strife which can be ended only in the destruction of the one by the other.
And, the "partition of powers" having boon so adjusted, as to leave Monarchy possessed of the actually decisive power, the executive,-armed with the military and the treasury ;--Democracy must, of-course, always bear the losing part in that strife, unless-which rarely takes-place-the main instrument of the ruling power, the army, refuses obedience to its commander.
Despite this evident and ingrained, dangerous defectiveness of the "partition
-of-powers" system as exhibited in "constitutional monarchy," the same institution has been foisted on the Republic. An essential

Research increasingly indicates that sans serif fonts are easier to read, though some researchers argue that the feet on serif typefaces help guide readers and can reduce confusion.

"He has the president's complete trust," said Mr. McCarthy.
"Trump's complained about everyone. Never him."
Mr. Trump may not complain about Mr. Miller, but he does occasionally poke at his obsession with immigrants — a hostility that goes far beyond Mr. Trump's. In one meeting during the 2024 campaign, Mr. Trump said that if it was up to Mr. Miller there would be only 100 million people in this country, and they would all look like Mr. Miller, according to a person with knowledge of the comment. Karoline Leavitt, Mr. Trump's spokeswoman, denied the account.
