David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 2hSo what is the position with the TV adaptation of Normal People which is still available on IPlayer. Rooney is listed as a writer on some of the episodes. Will she be getting any income from that? Does that put it in the same position as the novels? 000

David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Probably more truth in domestic agenda being decided in 100 days. Others you mention are due to being buffeted by external factors. "events, dear boy, events". The referendum was part of the manifesto for the 2015 election so was within 100 days of Cameron admin. Couldn't happen in Cam/Clegg admin. 020

David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I'm thinking that after Nott and Derby you'll take the Yorkshire route of Sheff/Donnie/Wakefield Bradford and Leeds; or are you going to surprise us with Stoke/Wrexham/Chester, Salford and Manc? Either way there is a possible bonus with York or Liverpool! 100
David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 24/08/2026This piece, and presumably the figures from the trade body, don't seem to take account of all those customers overpaying on their direct debits, and therefore providing a surplus to the energy companies. I would like to guess this fully compensates for the debt from those struggling to pay 020

David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Beautifully written as always, but at the moment I'm chalking this story as unproven. The uncorroborated word of an anonymous former employee. All school libraries must choose which books they stock and which they don't. If students want a wider choice they can go be referred to the town library. 120
David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 25/01/2026Seems that a key question is: Did Burnham announce intention to stand expecting that NEC backing was in place; or did he announce knowing the NEC would block? i.e. has the leadership screwed Burnham or has Burnham exposed the weakness of the leadership? Or another way - who has Machiavelli on side? 030

David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 28/10/2025Yes, but what I wrote was in reply to a post suggesting that the Labour MP for Holborn may not spend a lot of time in his constituency. That is Mr Starmer, and he does spend quite a lot of time on things other than constituency business 010
David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 28/10/2025Yes, if your MP spends their time on Party business and/or running the country. No if the MP spends (at least) half their time on business that is neither. That is the problem with Farage and Clacton 270

David Burrows @davidburrows7.bsky.social · 23/07/2025Oh no. You may have reignited the War of the Roses by suggesting Walsden is in Lancashire! Yorkshire staged a largely peaceful land grab in 1974 and placed it in West Yorkshire. There is still a lot of resentment about that though. 110
