Same here. I taped it off the telly and almost wore the VHS out. Then I bought the box set on dvd but never watched it (cos of him). It’s a shame but I did watch it a lot 😂

True, with two fewer venues on the front unlikely to be occupied by then, there'll only be the two queer venues there with a couple down side streets. Legends was so cishet for the 20 mins or so we endured the street party this year 😬

I know what you mean about Hilton! And this year they're talking of JLo as headliner 🙄 I'm referring to the street party though and it's basically the sound systems and 'party in the street' atmosphere that attracts the cishets. It was always meant to be a queer social thing, not a club event.

We skipped the Saturday in the park this year but have to say, the Sunday was pretty good. Felt quieter but not quiet with only short queues, if any, for loos and the bar.

I think that's worth a go... I remember when it first started, they didn't have the huge sound systems blasting out music, it was just a day after main Pride where people gathered outside various pubs in the area. Maybe close a couple streets to traffic but that's all that's needed.

I think there's no point trying to fix the street party, it's been ruined by the cishets who took over, the cishets who campaigned to shut it down, and Brighton Pride. It's also no longer an LGBTQ+ pride event, it's a straight party. Smaller, free, locally run pride events have to be the future.

Tbf, I could have done that yesterday. I was waiting on the shoulder press and both were occupied by two guys who train together. They had really long rest times so could have easily used the same machine and if not, I could have asked to work in with one of them at least.
