I'm sure intermittent fasting has many benefits, but I'm sure part of it is that even health food tastes good when you don't get to eat until half eleven.

Remembering the time I went with my wife to a dance class. I just couldn't relax, and this was making my already inexpert dancing wooden. After a while, my wife noticed I'd suddenly relaxed. "You're doing it! What did you do differently?" "Oh. I was thinking about Barth."

One of the great disappointments of becoming an adult is no longer being able easily to set up a kickabout with mates. It requires only a patch of grass, two to four jumpers, a football, and some free time. So I'm delighted to have done just that today. Even though it took a *full year* to arrange.

My Dad was once denied tenure because of his stand against Apartheid. But I grew up thinking the definition of Christian witness was keeping my scratchy shirt tucked in at church. Smart clothes are fine. But when you dress your kids for church tomorrow, make sure they don't get the wrong message.

I've always thought the dedicated Lego sets discourage creativity relative to the jumble of bricks I grew up with. For example, check out this dog. We can all agree it's just as good as the dog set that costs £59.99, and it took far more creativity too.

Does anyone else find train seats like these absolute murder? Great if you're exactly the right height. I'm 6 foot 2 with herniated disc. Those head rest wings catch my shoulder blades and force my back into an hunch. Surely a more ergonomically neutral design would be better?
A picture of an empty Scotrail train seat. The headrest protrudes far out, such that it would provide ergonomic neck support to someone of the right height, but push into the shoulder blades of a taller person, forcing the lower part of the back into an pronounced curve if they were to lean back.

Cost-effectiveness isn't necessarily consequentialist. Prudence is a virtue. Using money as it was intended is a duty. Let's stop teaching in intro to ethics that we're being consequentialist when we think about costs. Better e.g.: conseqs have deceived themselves it may be OK to torture children.

Don't let national leaders reduce you to your nationality. Your identity is complex, and your relationships are many. When a national leader wants you to focus on your nationality above all, it's because they want to be your only leader. They're an abuser cutting you off from other relationships.
