David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Hotelia 2026 is running now and we're about to ramp into the weekend when *everything* goes Barmy Army. You can also pick up my Hotelia 2025 EP at DavidAlexanderMcDonald.bandcamp.com for all of $3. Or get all of my work there! 011
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Miami Loco 2026. Compersion performing at 411Space despite issues with their van requiring a rescue. Once again, a great show. I have a video but it's too long. Boo. 030
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Fatigo on the main stage...and the UFO! 030
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Miami Loco 2026. Miami and Globe are side by side mining towns in Arizona. I was screwing up with video, so this is abrupt and missing a pump -- the one actually making the *putt* sound. 120
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Miami Loco 2016. I played music -- using guitar and effects pedals for the first time in one of these -- read a short story, and performed poetry, which accidentally themed itself (work written in Ireland, though I did get two clown poems in.) 020
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Here we go again. I'm set to read again, as well as performing experimental music behind Ken Boe and in conjunction with others at 411 Space. 010
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Post something random or you'll have an awful April. 010
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 12/08/2025I wrote a reply about #Hotelia and BlueSky reset. *sigh* It was a multi-artist residency. For me, improv music with and without poets, also composed new material, and wrote clown-themed poetry. Also renewed my bond with Sarah, who was there as a photographer. 010

David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 31/01/2025The wraparound cover/insert (if anyone burns CDs from the downloads), which will need to be uploaded as a PDF. The cover on Bandcamp will be the right side of this. 110
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 28/12/2024Back to work on ARTLAB2. Three big pieces remain to be done, and I'm working on the first section of "Mutate (H)" right now. 010
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 17/12/2024There's more in the works, and even plans to have me read poetry. As far as I can tell, all three shows have been hits with the audience. I'm also overcoming the technical hurdles. 000
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 19/11/2024Rolled in for my wound clinic appointment today, to be told, oh, yes, we're putting a cast on you today because we need to check for issues and reactions overnight. Then we redo it tomorrow, and you go a week at a time! And now I'm lurching around everywhere thanks to this damn Frankenboot. Rarrrgh! 110
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 18/11/2024I seem to have decided to go through my Plex music libraries in order, starting with African. That means a lot of Fela Kuti in the past eighteen hours. 000
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 15/11/2024#booksky. This is a not quite random page. I could have chosen chaos.... 110
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 15/11/2024From Nov. 8th at Object Hotel Bisbee, AZ. Some Sasquatch improvising live music to a reading by poet/artist Ken Boe. Cellist/poet/artist Dylan Morgan joined in as well, and it was fabulous. 120

David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 12/11/2024From rehearsals with artist/poet Ken Boe. Left puc by My end, right by me. The twin iPad set-up was used on the first gig, then the full keyboard/computer rig + iPad on the second, when poet/cellist/artist Dylan Morgan joined us. 230
David Alexander McDonald @davidam.bsky.social · 07/11/2024Rehearsal tonight went very well indeed, despite equipment chaos -- mixer was silent, Zoom unit has a long learning curve, newly set up computer didn't work right, so I'll be doing music on two iPads. Astonishingly, the sound is amazing. May Bisbee be entertained! 000
