I fell into the Backrooms YT wormhole before the studio deal, and was very excited that this young kid was given the resources. The design alone is worth the watch but i liked the story too.
letterboxd.com
A ★★★★½ review of Backrooms (2026)
I went down the backrooms YouTube rabbit hole when it was first a thing. and I loved how weird and new it felt. Also cool to see it get a narrative. I thought for a 21-year-old kid, this was a pretty smart and weird horror film, with great and interesting design. Two plot holes seemed the fault of a young writer who doesn't understand how adulting works ha-ha.
