Showtime giveth, and Showtime taketh away.

It's probably not a good sign that, by the time we actually scored, I felt bad about spoiling Quick's shutout.

It seems Dennis Cholowski is on waivers. He'd solve our 3rd pairing woes, right?

And so concludes Stranger Things... As the finale was only released earlier today, I'll limit myself to saying, for the record, that I really enjoyed the final season. Definitely left me feeling emotional! #StrangerThings

Poor Kasper - never stood a chance after this jinx.

I've mentioned this quietly, but - since the summer my hobby has been making this ambitious murder mystery podcast. A story. Narrated by me, with a mouthwatering cast. Partly interactive. Trailer is coming tomorrow but if you like the sound of this, please follow @murderbastard.bsky.social.

Part of me now really wants you to update your profile description to refer to yourself (in the 3rd person) as "The 'Ellen' of Bluesky" 😊

Well, they definitely seem like the type of person I'd like to hang around with at parties. Y'know, if I was in desperate need of a headache.

If we sign enough former Jets to join Appleton, Copp and Chiarot, I wonder if we can tempt Ehlers...?

Let's be honest, we can narrow this down further - there's been a finalist from the state of Florida for the last 5 seasons. Doesn't look like that's changing this year...

I can't comment on the manga, having never read it, but the anime 'series 0' certainly had some fun moments when exploring the darker / horroresque themes. As you say though, you're largely just waiting for Yugi to flip out.

He used to like them, but he was just a Stupid Kid back then...

Surely this rumour has the sole purpose of making Evan's head explode?

David Kingswell @davewk19.bsky.social · 12/04/2025

It makes me wonder. It was (and still is) nice to have both Danielson and Kasper in the hope that one might be a 2C, but if we'd known that Kasper would play like this then, given we need a scoring winger, would we have drafted someone like Benson at #9 in 2023? (Assuming we'd still get ASP at #17!)

It's almost certainly a typo (unless WWP have heard some very interesting news!) I was just in the mood to poke fun this morning. I blame a distinct lack of sleep and coffee!

Nope, definitely says Willander 🙂 I remember people saying at the time how great it would be to have a Wallinder-Willander pairing...

000

David Kingswell @davewk19.bsky.social · 10/04/2025

I'd like to apologise in advance as I already hate myself for doing this... ...I didn't realise we'd acquired Tom Willander?

Psyching myself up to binge the rest this weekend...if my nerves can take it!

Well, I'm halfway through the series and all I can say (without giving away spoilers) is that I feel incredibly tense! #ThisCityIsOurs

Well, on the plus side, every result went our way. Shame about the OT points though...

Probably Pokémon Blue - so much time invested in that game, back when the franchise was shiny and new(ish)

Will always have a soft spot for X. I love mega evolution as a concept, plus X remains my one and only successful nuzlocke!

I will not stand for this Chikorita disdain! It served me well in Gold 💛

David Kingswell @davewk19.bsky.social · 25/02/2025

Hopefully I'm not too late! The Wings currently have Seider and Edvinsson on D, and hope that ASP can come in to take another top-4 spot. Do you see anyone else already in the Wings' system who might be capable of filling the last top-4 spot?

Some very fond memories of Day of the Duelist (7 Trials to Glory) and Dungeon Dice Monsters. Not sure how much patience I'd have for re-visiting the earlier titles - if I remember rightly, they could be... interesting. Sad but not unexpected that Capsule Monster Coliseum isn't included.

Add in Raymond and Gustafsson, and it reminds me of the good ol' days with Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Kronwall, Franzen etc

So I'm a relative Final Fantasy novice, having only played X and XV and having not gone far in either. However I've enjoyed watching videos of VII Remake and Rebirth, and am enjoying XII on Switch. Thoughts on the best FF games? I've seen a lot of reviews that suggest I should give X another try...

Switch Sports: Gang Beasts edition. Umm, can I use my golf club?

I would've been interested to see how Bombadil was presented in the films as I find him to be a really interesting character. However, I don't feel that his absence from the films has any real negative impact.

Running away from Nemesis in the Police Station and getting trapped in an office with Nemesis stood in the doorway. It didn't end well...

Still catching up on #DayoftheJackal - just finished episodes 3-5 and I am beyond tense!

000

David Kingswell @davewk19.bsky.social · 23/11/2024

But but... this would suggest there are reasons for optimism? Feels weird...

020

David Kingswell @davewk19.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Given that Stevie and Lou are both notoriously tight-lipped, how about we spice up tonight's Wings-Isles game with a side-wager - loser has to leak something about their team?

000

David Kingswell @davewk19.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Well, Bluesky seemed an obvious move for a Sky Blue Coventry boy 😊💙
