I’ll probably go and see The Odyssey next week, but I’m confident it won’t have the emotional heft of A Thousand Ships by the wonderful @nataliehaynes.bsky.social. So many women are given flesh and breath in its pages, but it was the beautiful account of Laodamia that had me choking back tears.
