Oct. 7, 1926: Opal Lee, a teacher-activist who became known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth” for leading the campaign to establish the federal holiday that commemorates the end of slavery every June 19, is born in Marshall, Texas. She turns 100 today.

Power to the People included a "Freedom Village" featuring more than two dozen pro-democracy non-profits. Before gates opened, Tom Morello walked through and stopped at every single one, chatting, asking questions, taking pics, encouraging. The real deal, and a true class act.

I was unable to watch tonight, but just seeing some of the posts -- this one in particular -- is triggering some serious anxiety! I first watched Aliens at 16 on a rented VHS while home from school, so engrossed I didn't notice until it was over I'd had a pretty significant nosebleed! #HATM
