Great conversation with @mollyjongfast.bsky.social — talked about why billionaires in this country pay lower tax rates than working people, why Gavin Newsom and the political establishment keep protecting them, and why Prop 40 makes billionaires finally pay what they owe. Give it a listen.

Went on the Signorile Show to say it plain: billionaires in this state refuse to pay what they owe, and our hospitals and schools foot the bill. Prop 40 fixes that — 250 CA billionaires, finally paying up. Yes on 40. No on 41 and 42.

If healthcare costs can push millions into poverty, we cannot afford to leave people without the programs that they rely on. This November, vote yes on Prop 40, a one-time 5% tax on billionaires, to make sure a medical bill doesn't become a financial crisis. nyti.ms/3TagVEK

Andrew Garfield hopes his new movie makes billionaires “scared shitless.” Maybe they should be. In California, billionaires get richer while working people face cuts to healthcare, schools, and essential services. We’re done letting them write the rules. Vote YES on Prop 40!

Billionaires lack manners and common courtesy. They pay lower tax rates than the rest of us, and now they’re flooding our screens with ads to make sure nothing changes. Read about it here: bit.ly/4A2DgEL

Healthcare costs set for biggest increase in 20 years, & working families will pay the price. Families shouldn’t have to choose between bills and care while billionaires sit on vast fortunes. That’s why I support Prop 40: it’s time for the wealthiest to pay their fair share. nyti.ms/4zYeOUU

Three related measures on the CA ballot: Prop 40 (billionaire tax for healthcare), Prop 41 (new audit requirements for special taxes), and Prop 42 (bars new personal property and retroactive taxes). 41 and 42 are designed to conflict with, and could cancel, 40 if they outvote it. #Yeson40

Prop 40's $100 billion in projected revenue is legally barred from replacing existing state health, education, or food assistance funding — the bill prohibits using it to "justify reducing, eliminating, or failing to increase" other appropriations. #Yeson40

Per the National Bureau of Economic Research analysis cited in the 2026 Billionaire Tax Act's own findings (Balkir, Saez, Yagan, Zucman, Working Paper No. 34170, 2025), billionaires pay about 24% of their income in taxes across all levels of government. The average taxpayer pays 30%. #Yeson40

The 2026 Billionaire Tax Act (Prop 40) allocates its revenue by law: 90% to a Health Account, 10% to Education, and Food Assistance. That split is written into Section 5 of the bill itself. yeson40.com

I joined veterans in Sacramento today to launch a new ad backing Prop 40. Their case: Trump's $100B healthcare cut is closing clinics and emptying hospital staffing across California — and veterans depend on that same system as much as anyone. Full remarks: www.youtube.com/live/Fm9vu8x...

131 to 2. That's how California healthcare workers voted to put the Billionaire Tax on the ballot. 70% women, 70% people of color — frontline caregivers who know what closures cost. Not ego. A mandate. Prop 40, this November. #Prop40 #YesOn40 #BillionaireTax @seiu-uhw.bsky.social hw.bsky.social

CA's first-ever billionaire tax hits the Nov 3 ballot: a one-time 5% tax on our state's 250 billionaires to backfill the $1 trillion federal Medicaid cuts. I laid out the math this week in Tunica, at CBCI's Mississippi Policy Conference. Really. #Yeson40 @cbc.house.gov @seiu-uhw.bsky.social

California's largest labor federation just endorsed Prop 40 — 1,300 unions, 2.3 million members. The math: tax 250-plus billionaires sitting on $2.5 trillion, or watch your local ER close. Not radical. Just math with a conscience. #YesOn40
