I left work at 50 as we have two children with autism and it was too much for my wife on her own, I guess it's similar to retirement, but we can't really go out very much.

The first time I went to Liverpool was in 1990, I went with the Cornish supporters club, it was £13 for the coach and £5 for a ticket, a season ticket then cost £100, I don't know what it is now probably in the thousands.

According to Wikipedia there are 30 different countries around the world that have the traitors, I've watched just the English speaking ones, UK, Ireland , USA, Canada, who also do a French version, Australia and New Zealand.

That was 1987, so a long time ago, I haven't been to a game since 2008, I think it's maybe too expensive for people who just want to cause trouble now perhaps.

Love it, I've recently finished Australia series 3, Ireland series 2, and started USA new blood, and Canada series 4, I'm not addicted at all 🤪

I think the worst place I went was Highbury, Plymouth played there in the FA cup, lost 6-1, and we got pelted with stones on our way back to the coach.

I love Anfield too, always felt welcome despite not being a local, went to Portsmouth to watch Plymouth once and we were escorted to and from the ground, I never understand why some idiots want to cause trouble because they support a different team.

I'm with you,I watched 30 minutes of England v Argentina in the world cup, and watched the final, which was really dull, I don't watch friendlies, qualifiers or that nations league thing or whatever it's called, like you said I can't suddenly want players I hate week in and week out to do well.
