How quickly will we hit $7 diesel? Regular gas could be really close to $5 by the midterms but I have little doubt diesel will be at $7 before then.

There it is. $6 diesel. Even the $5.66 a gallon in Texas is a record there. Most Americans don’t pay this directly but it factors into all goods transported. And I’d have to think super duty trucks aren’t going to have a good month of sales.

My two big takeaways from not watching the convention yesterday: 1. The only thing people are talking about is the $5K bribe. 2. Media, even someplace like Wired, are treating it as a legitimate possibility. The word bribe is not published in any headline. Or even the illegality of it.

It is kind of crazy that the war in Iran has reinvigorated EV sales in Europe. EV registrations up 48% in Germany with overall car sales up as well. Tesla and Chinese brands had big gains but traditional brands still top all sales.

Interesting this is the take as GMs most profitable SUVs, and the thirstiest, saw sales decline 4-21% in the quarter while most of the EV losses save Equinox were from phased out models. Cadillac EV sales were up slightly.

I’ve probably done some stupid or near stupid things in my 30 year working life. I’ve never had anyone, boss, tough client, colleague etc say “Are you stupid?” And I’ve never seen it happen to anyone else in a work setting. If it had it would likely lead to an HR investigation.
