We finally had some clear skies last night. Unfortunately my neighbours decided to light their log burner, which wiped out most of the southern sky.. So it was aim north for M 81, through the aroura, which gave me some interesting colour casts.

That was me two evenings ago. The clouds cleared as the sun set, so I made sure all my batteries were charged and got everything ready. As it got dark, the clouds rolled back in and it rained for the rest of the night. 😭

They keep moaning about solar panels taking up farmland, but when windfarms are suggested instead (the land can be farmed around these ) they object because they think they are unsightly. I personally think the turbines look great and down here in Kernow, we get more wind than sunshine anyway.

I know what you mean. My father died on 23rd December in 1992. I still feel his loss especially when the Christmas adverts start every year. They just remind me that awful things happen at Christmas. Still we all put our happy masks on for the grandchildren.

Just playing around with my new toy, a Seestar S50. We don't get many clear nights here in Kernow, but I managed about 40mins on M42 a few nights ago. i know there is loads of room for improvement, but it's a start.
