Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 24/05/2026Fifty five games done this season, I need a lie down 110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 24/05/2026A draw felt likely all week, #NFFC played well in spells but it did look like a team who’d played twenty more games this season than their opponents by the end… 160
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 24/05/2026#NFFC going as strong as they can today, maybe it’ll be more of a back three in possession with Williams pushing high up but we’ve seen Cunha come in and play at right back when needed… 130
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 17/05/2026#NFFC did more than enough to win that but there’s only so much you can do against officiating like that. On to Bournemouth, let’s finish well. 040
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 17/05/2026It’s great to see Gibbs-White back for #NFFC, he’s been brilliant since the turn of the year but you still feel like he’ll need to impress over these next two games to get in the World Cup squad… 170
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 17/05/2026Last #NFFC away day of the season, we’ve had some crackers this year. 010
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 10/05/2026A drab end of season affair for long periods but in the end #NFFC got the point their hard work deserved, we lacked the numbers or attacking quality in midfield to really get more but they didn’t deserve to lose this game… 130
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Let’s keep it in perspective that #NFFC are on a run of one defeat in eleven games, but we do collectively need to react properly to Thursday night… 140
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 07/05/2026It’s a shame that we don’t have a fully fit XI but this is what happens late in the season, having Gibbs-White, Sangare and Murillo on the bench is a bonus for #NFFC, but you have to think if they were anywhere near fit they’d be starting… 260
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 06/05/2026Feels a bit odd to not be heading to the airport today, but the excitement is starting to build. I’ve had a weird absence of nerves throughout this #NFFC European run, maybe it’s the fact that it’s been alongside a nightmare of a relegation battle… 250
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Every #NFFC player in the squad stood up today, no one was lower than a 8/10 and that’s with players playing significantly more minutes than they have played in recent weeks… 1110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Getting anything from today now feels like a bit of a bonus, but if #NFFC go all out and win the next two games after this later this week then we’re safe in the league and in a European final, I can understand the logic even if I don’t love it. 130
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 04/05/2026It’s a tough ask today against an unknown quantity in Chelsea and I’d definitely take a point, but #NFFC can win this game, and a win effectively puts the league to bed. Start strong, have a plan for substitutions if possible, and let’s target three positive results this week. 170
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 03/05/2026Winning breeds confidence as #NFFC have seen in recent weeks, the Spurs result today shouldn’t dictate things massively but if they were to lose then maybe a player who’s 50/50 to play isn’t risked on Monday… 140
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 01/05/2026The tie is far from over and I’d still call it slightly in Villa’s favour with how strong they’ve been at Villa Park against #NFFC in recent years, but the pressure is starting to show… 140
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 30/04/2026Half way there 👏 #NFFC deserved the win and it’s going to take another massive performance at Villa Park but this is what we wanted, let’s go there with no fear and whatever will be will be… 1110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 30/04/2026Injuries are a bit of a killer for #NFFC but that’s a strong enough XI to go out there and compete, nothing will be won today but staying in the tie and taking something to Villa is key If Morato keeps his game simple then he’ll be fine and Sangare is a big miss against a strong Villa midfield… 130
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 27/04/2026It feels really harsh to make all those United fans travel up from London on a Monday night to play Brentford when there wasn’t a Premier League game at all on Sunday. 000
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 24/04/2026#NFFC were absolutely superb tonight, from back to front they turned up and put a decent side to bed with ease, that’s a massive step towards safety, one more point probably does it now, another win definitely does… 1150
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 24/04/2026That’s a more aggressive XI than I expected #NFFC to start with but that combination between Wood and Jesus worked really well last week, Gibbs-White and Hutchinson in narrower ten roles could be interesting going forward… 220
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 23/04/2026I still think #NFFC only need four more points to secure safety but we’re potentially going to have to hold our nerve this weekend when Spurs surely beat Wolves, we have the advantage of playing first for a change so maybe it’s more a message for the fans than the players… 140
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 19/04/2026and breathe… I don’t think I’ve ever known the City Ground go from completely despondent to absolute elation in the space of an hour like that before. Everyone involved with #NFFC stood together in that second half, the big players turned up in the big moments and finished it emphatically… 1110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 19/04/2026An interesting selection with the wingers but that’s a strong #NFFC team for a massive game. Maybe Ndoye has picked up a knock but it’s a big chance for Bakwa to stake a claim for the rest of the season… 320
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 16/04/2026It wouldn’t be #NFFC if we’d done it the easy way! In the end Forest did more than enough to win it, it got nervy at times and the plan was thrown in the bin with the injuries, hopefully they’re nothing serious… 280
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 16/04/2026A nice balance for #NFFC tonight, as much as we’d love to fully go for it Sunday is a massive game for the club, and it’s a squad game and they will all be needed between now and the end of the season… 110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 12/04/2026In the context of other results, and frankly how much better Villa were than #NFFC today, that’s a very good point. The Burnley game was always the must win out of the two and nothing today has changed that… 280
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 12/04/2026A very tough game today but it’s not all or nothing, it’s an opportunity for #NFFC but let’s not apply more pressure on ourselves than we need to. West Ham always had the easiest game of the weekend, Spurs and Leeds have tricky opponents and we’ve struggled at home… 120
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 09/04/2026Take that. On a night when #NFFC were generally quite poor they at least showed enough fight and professionalism to stay in the tie when they could have conceded four or five more, incredibly we could have come home with a lead if not for a ridiculous decision from what was a difficult referee… 1110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 09/04/2026What a massive boost that is! Maybe it’s only for forty five minutes to an hour but Chris Wood returning for the run in is huge for #NFFC. The rest of the team is exactly what we hoped for when we spent the money last summer, quality in depth… 1100
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 09/04/2026If Porto is the last of these European away days then we definitely could have picked worse places to do it. It feels like where we started away against Betis, beautiful weather, friendly people and a city completely overtaken by red shirts for a few days… 110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 08/04/2026Fatigue won’t be an issue after this long break and with Villa being in exactly the same position ahead of our game at the weekend, rather than #NFFC having to face well rested, well prepared opponents, you’d expect it to be a pretty strong side tomorrow night… 130
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 08/04/2026Someone needs to investigate the voodoo that’s involved at Schiphol airport, huge queues for passport control whenever you have a tight transfer but when you actually have a couple of hours to kill they get you through in seconds… 000
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 08/04/2026For some reason I completely forgot it was the kids Easter holidays and there might be families travelling, seemingly with everything they own… 000
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 07/04/2026Without fail whenever there’s the tiniest sign of positivity around #NFFC a wave of negative reports follow from lazy media outlets and social media accounts. This time it’s transfer rumours around several key players…media.tenor.coma man in a blue shirt and tie is pointing at a board with papers on it .ALT: a man in a blue shirt and tie is pointing at a board with papers on it . 240
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 30/03/2026De Zerbi would be an ego hire for Spurs, he needs a full preseason and time to implement his very specific playing style, he’s also an absolute mad man so introducing another level of chaos to an already chaotic situation doesn’t scream competence from the people running Spurs. 250
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Salah is undoubtedly a Premier League great, he probably stayed a season too long at Liverpool but he played at a Ballon d’Or level for a significant amount of time and deserves to have been recognised more for his achievements… 101
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 22/03/2026A disciplined mature performance from #NFFC against a Spurs team with a lot of bluster but scrape the surface and they’re brittle, one of the worst teams we’ve played home and away this season and they are where they deserve to be… 1100
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 22/03/2026That’s the strongest #NFFC XI on current form for a massive game, it’s not all won lost today but going into the break clear of the bottom three and starting to put a run together would be a real positive. Get at them early, fan rally or not these will turn quickly. 230
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 22/03/2026A few idiots fighting before a derby match is the reason the rest of us get treated like criminals travelling to every away game in the country, beyond idiotic… 000
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 19/03/2026What a great night! Whilst not ideal going to extra time and penalties let’s hope it helps bond the #NFFC squad together for a crucial run in, the fringe players finally turned up tonight and after tough starts to the game even Lucca and Bakwa had their bright moments… 1110
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 19/03/2026Why would you expect this club to do anything the easy way? We’re not ready for this to end just yet, #NFFC are heading to the Europa League Quarter Finals! 1100
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 19/03/2026Never say never but that’s a #NFFC team with their full focus on Sunday, plenty of these players have something to prove but they’re on chance four or five at this point… 100
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 18/03/2026It’s 2026, how is anyone unprepared for airport security at this point? 000
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 18/03/2026For an hour at least #NFFC have to go for it on Thursday. Sels Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams Anderson, Sangare Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi Jesus … 310
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 17/03/2026Clearly any big club in Europe with a brain would be interested in Elliot Anderson, #NFFC should set a deadline for a sale, likely before the PSR year end in June, and let the bidding war start. He’s a £100m+ player with enough clubs interested to get it to that price. 421
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 16/03/2026I appreciate it was for rules broken before this ownership came in and they seemingly were open and reported it, but that #CFC “punishment” is ridiculous for what was actually done. Compare that to what they decided was fair for #EFC, #NFFC and potentially #LCFC… Farcical. 2191
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 15/03/2026When it’s not your day it’s not your day, there have been far too many of those for #NFFC this season but they’ve done more than enough to win that game today… 161
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 15/03/2026I’d have been tempted to go with two wingers but hopefully Hutchinson can make an impact off the bench against tired legs. #NFFC have the work rate in midfield and strength at the back but we need to see clinical finishing from the attacking players added to that today. No excuses. 040
Dave Holmes @daveho1mes.bsky.social · 12/03/2026Incredibly frustrating, #NFFC looked tired and got caught out in one moment with no pressure on a cross and poor marking in the middle… 120
