Thanks to everybody who stopped by the @laravel.com booth at Laracon EU, all of our partners and sponsors, and all of my amazing teammates who spent the last four days with me in Amsterdam 🇳🇱❤️

www.icloud.com/shortcuts/3b... Create a token in GitHub (github.com/settings/tok...), edit the shortcut, paste the value after 'token' in the header - and you're all set. I'm using Cursor, but this will obviously work for Claude Code as well.

You can't create a new repo from the GitHub mobile app, which makes it annoying to start vibe coding a new idea - so let's use Shortcuts to make this as easy as possible.

Last week on Mostly Technical, @ianlandsman.com talked to @aaronfrancis.com about his plans for a Molly's Game situation. He wants to build a stable of horses! For poker! Trust us - it all makes sense.

What happens when code is cheap to create? Last month I spoke at Laracon US about this very question and why while we might see a flood of vibe coded apps, that doesn't mean this is the end of the line for traditional software development.

So here's the setup in Audio Hijack - 3 USB mics plugged in and 2 interfaces plugged in, with one interface having two mics plugged into it for a total of 6 mics. @ianlandsman.com and I were sharing a mic.

Dave Hicking @davehicking.com · 04/04/2025

What happens when you get a bunch of Laravel podcasters in the same room after @phpxnyc.com? You bring an absurd number of microphones and talk about poker, obviously.

Damn it's an end of an era for Southwest Airlines. Not only does it suck to pay for checked bags, but it was an incredible advantage when trying to turn planes around quickly. If people have to pay for bags, Southwest will turn into just another US airline where people fight for overhead space.

And when you do the recording, you can hide the camera preview so if this is for a PHPx meetup, you don't even need to also see the person's face on the projector while they're showing slides

There a few things I like to revisit from time to time (the first 4 seasons of ‘The Wire’) and the “Back To Work Starter Pack” is high on that list. @hotdogsladies.bsky.social taught me how to be organized and I can’t imagine where I’d be if it weren’t for this podcast ❤️ merlinm.com/b2w-starter/

So how exactly *do* you build psychological safety for your team? Seems like a great idea, right - but where do you even start? At my @laracon.au talk last month, I identified some great concepts/ideas to help you get started. To watch the rest of the talk, head over to laracon.au/talks/dave-h....

Want to create a culture where people feel empowered to creatively solve problems instead of just taking orders? Your people need to feel safe. This year at @laracon.au I talked about culture, psychological safety, and a whole lot more.
