#20 The Moviegoer Walker Percy 1961 There's a lot of Southern specific culture and language to cut through but I really liked the underlying story so kept going. Worth a reread now I'm more used to Percy's prose, and I'll try some more of his

#19 Moon Palace Paul Auster 1989 Couldn't find this at the library or for sale in Taiwan, so bought it while back in the UK for a trip; which is why there has been over a month since my last book I really enjoyed this, not as complex in narration as some other of Auster's, but great nonetheless

Interestingly, there exist (a lot more!) "Space Shuttle"-branded cartridges that are actually for a unique MSX clone supporting only Famicom-shaped cartridges.

#18 The Secret History Donna Tartt (1992) I enjoyed this and became quite invested in the characters, however much I disliked them by the end. It's a slow burn at 550 pages, but I like reading characters with strong interiority and the prose is really smooth so I finished it in a couple of weeks

#17 A Wild Sheep Chase Haruki Murakami (English translation 1989) This started slow with not much plot progression, but I really got into past the half way mark. A lot of symbolism, and the final act felt Auster-like. I wouldn't rush to read this again, but I will try more Murakami soon

#15 and the first book I am choosing not to finish. The Names Don DeLillo, 1982 I found the writing style very monotonous and the constant fragmented descriptions of scenes became a chore. I can see how in isolation a section might feel poetic, but every scene is the same. I made it to 140 pages

There's a Diary of a Wimpy Kid (known as 葛瑞的囧日記 in Taiwan) exhibition at the Kaohsiung main public library. Could be fun if you've got kids who are fans. It's on the 4th floor, not the basement level where the kids section is.

The first game I had was River Raid, it was really boring, not a patch on Nintendo. In those times, information was few and far between. I'm sure my mum and dad had gone to a small video game store and been tricked by the owner into buying this instead of a Nintendo.

All I can remember is that the box looked like a fruit box and my parents actually tricked me into saying they couldn't buy a console and instead bought a box of fruit. I remember the joystick was like that of a plane with a button on top and a button on the base.
