Starting my Saturday with Otley—a cracking 1969 spy comedy starring Tom Courtenay. Think The Wrong Man meets The Ipcress File, but with a touch of swinging ’60s charm. Perfect way to start the day before heading to work. The sun’s out, the sky’s blue, and I’ve got lifecasts and clay waiting for me

That would be the wonderful Hugh Keays-Byrne (R.I.P.) who was also the main bad guy in the very FIRST Mad Max film... and one of the NICEST people I've ever had the privilege of working with! Right, @daveelseyfx.bsky.social?

Hugh Keays-Byrne, in makeup/costume for his Farscape character "Grunchlk", posing for a pic with his arms around me (on his right) and Dave Elsey (on his left).

Thinking of selling these Omen-ous dagger replicas. What do you think, would people buy them?

Just found this and quite pleased with it. This is a woman wearing a prosthetic makeup to pass as a man. THAT was a fun job!

With the exciting news that Hammer Films are back in business,I was reminded of the time I was asked to recreate Peter Cushing using prosthetics on actor Wayne Pygram. Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. Christopher Lee was also in the film! www.imdb.com/title/tt0121...

MQ: Well, honestly, it definitely made me laugh in moments, but that was because I had had the best team to put it on this, this British couple named Lou and Dave [Elsey] that were a married couple that would just crack me up.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I admire Sherlock Holmes, so it was an absolute pleasure to work on Mr. Holmes, directed by Bill Condon and starring Ian McKellen. Nicholas Rowe played the movie version of Holmes. we became great friends. He later starred in our short horror thriller Stay Alert.

Oh, what might have been. Rick Baker recommended that I do the MIB re boot to the producers. I did many designs (like this) but they decided to go another way, as we often sigh in this biz.
