It was a tory govt then. And snp with the Greens’ Lorna Green were warned the deposit scheme was always going to be UK wide. But don’t let fact get in the way of your blinkers.

Of course it’s more than snp supporters. Never suggested otherwise. But a poll from “Believe in Scotland”, showing those numbers, has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

I’d have it tomorrow. And bury the romantic nonsense for ever.

Not yet Colin, he’s only been there 3 months. SNP have had 20 years and their mediocrity doesn’t persuade many people to give them more powers. Otherwise, you’d be miles ahead in all polls over a consistent period.

Genuinely, no!

Dave @davedawsonedin.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Burnham just might be doing exactly that.

Dave @davedawsonedin.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Or possibly let’s change the UK govt mindset, devolve more capital spending and reduce the Westminster bubble to national security and fiscal policy.

Dave @davedawsonedin.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Exactly. That’s what Burnham wants for all of the UK.

It was a UK referendum, caused by Cameron’s failure to control the hard right ERG. The damage brexit’s done is UK wide, and needs to be reversed. Maybe Indy supporters are worried it’ll eat into that slim majority?

Who do you blame? SNP, Labour, or market forces making Grangemouth uneconomic? Let’s hope both govts can support the area to replace the lost jobs, which go wider than the refinery itself.

Dave @davedawsonedin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Sigh.

Dave @davedawsonedin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Look at the number of non Indy votes. Frankly, I’d have a referendum tomorrow and put 60% as a minimum.

Imagine if some “benefactors” donated some of their immense wealth to help education, local communities or research cancer. Instead of blowing it for no apparent reason than to “help the country”.

Just reinforced your own inadequacies. Blinkered thinking isn’t reasoned. Want to explain about currency, repaying the share of National Debt, border arrangements with a separate England, while getting debt own to the EU level for joining, or buying back assets owned by investment companies?

Insults. Just typical snp tactic.

Cameron’s weakness caused Brexit. Corbyn’s apathy didn’t help. And it was a UK-wide referendum. Proving the nats case for another absurd Indy shouldn’t be based on 2014, but trying to justify Indy in this current geo political and economic state will be a tough ask.
