Walking Drake's Trail. This area is littered with ancient mines. Copper, tin, arsenic. The industrial revolution started here, when Cornish engineers needed pumps to drain their deep mines. Now they are mounds, scars on the hillsides, covered in oak, rowan, birch & this beech, fused to a sycamore.
