I'M REALLY SORRY IF YOU WERE HOPING FOR MORE DAVE ENGINE STUFF!!! Sorry to anyone who has made mods for it as well, thank you to anyone that did in the first place, it was awesome to see.

Sorry if this all seems so abrupt, but this was a decision that took months of thinking over to properly commit to. A lot of factors went into play here...

Of course I gotta explain the elephant in the room here.. Dave Engine has officially been discontinued. Dave and Bambi is moving to Codename Engine for Volume 2. (codename-engine.com)

For Volume 2, we're going to be doing something we probably should've done in Volume 1. We're finally touching up those old, dirty, smelly, stinky songs... Here's a taste for what's to come with HOUSE!

We are all really excited for the new opportunities that the lore rewrite will bring to the table, and we hope that you will be too. Feel free to ask any questions you may have in the new "questions" channel in the Discord: discord.gg/daveandbambi (5/5)

We can promise that details and story beats will be revealed and integrated in Volume 2 and in future projects. For now, you can stay tuned in the D&B Discord and Toyhouses (toyhou.se/~world/21589...) (4/5)

The new lore has been worked on for the past few months, and builds off of the content shown on the Toyhouses and Volume 1 so far, which remains largely unchanged by this decision (besides XOR, who is removed). (3/5)

Dave and Bambi @daveandbambi.net · 10/02/2026

All D&B projects going forward will have new lore distinct from the previous iterations. For those missing the old lore, @mtm101.bsky.social is continuing it as an AU named Underside. Information about it will be on his socials when it’s ready. (2/5)

After heavy consideration we have made the move to overhaul the lore of Dave and Bambi overall to fit the direction and intended tone better for future projects. (1/5)

If you aren't too keen on reading the documentation through this website and prepare to watch tutorial videos, there'll be most likely be a video series playlist up hopefully soon (no promises, it all depends on motivation) that documents how to mod the game also similar to this.

Dave and Bambi @daveandbambi.net · 25/09/2025

This large booklet will guide you to everything you need to do on how to mod the game, what you're able to mod into the game, and much more. It's heavily recommended you read this as you are making your own modpack, it's not meant to be read all in one sitting.

Had to delay the soundtrack by about a day because we found out if you live in Australia you would be able to listen to it before the mod actually comes out. Sorry.

The soundtrack for Volume 1 will release on streaming services September 1. 35 songs, and a little over an hour and 20 minutes of music. Coming out a little bit after the mod releases to give you guys some time to play it
