Is right and wrong determined by social values/morals, or power? Maybe it was always thus but right now in Gaza, Ukraine, Venezuela and more parochially in UK courts, Netanyahu, Trump, Putin and the like, use raw power as the arbitrator of justice. There has to be a better way.

It would have been good to hear the cabinet justify this expense. Especially given that County and two MPs are proposing a far larger unitary. Even more so, because they are likely to loose control in May. This is a change you may like. independents4ypcambs.uk

The chamber will be a very expensive part of the refurbishment. And if the unitary is bigger than 74 Cllr’s, or if it is not chosen, - the extra expense will not be justified.

So I raised my hand to clarify two points. . 1/ was there agreement that the new unitary would meet at the Guildhall? 2/ are the cabinet clear that 74 seats will be enough for the new unitary? I believe democracy was failed by the leader not using their discretion to hear me.

I went to Cambridge’s council chamber to watch the Cabinet Meeting. Much of the meeting was about £92 million being spent on the civic centre. Particular emphasis was on how the council chamber was at the heart of Cambridge’s democracy. 🤕 I tried to ask a question, I was refused. 😕 Some democracy!

Peter Cushing, it’s a great idea to have a light rail network in our area and Expensive, but potentially the way to go. Would love to work with you. The GCP green/bus ways will be built to convert, so the work has sort of started. After finance, is the major problem in Cambridge?

This busway is designed to 1/ reduce the need to drive into Cambridge. 2/ provides safe cycle and walking route into Cambridge 3/ reduce carbon emission 4/ reduce climate change 5/ to provide a bed for light rail in the future. 🙂

There is this word ‘Parrhesia.’ 🧌 It’s very apt when applied to politics. It involves a duty to be transparent, tell the whole truth, not hide anything and not remaining silent 🧌 To me it ranks alongside the expression ‘What you don’t condemn you condone.’ 🧌 It’s about putting your principles first.

CambridgeLabour has to choose a new leader. In the next 2years the leader will conduct the negotiations for a: 1/ Unitary, set to give power over Cambridge to the surrounding area, 2/ Development Corporation, which will decide the infrastructure for 250k homes 3/ Lead the city
