Well did my Cobble Hill Mountain trail walk this morning and finally saw Mt. Baker in Washington State was finally visible, more or less! Over 10,781 feet an over 93 miles away! The two pics I took try hard to reveal it’s majestic beauty!

This shot shows “sandwich rock”. So called because Golden (Norah) got a piece of sandwich from a worker who sat there on his break! Every time we did the walk over next 11 years she would race to the rock and check! Although faced with disappointment each time she remained sanguine! Maybe next time!

Well I made it the top of the Hill yesterday. The lookout is 1076 feet above sea level! The photo below is how’s the view east towards Saltspring Island on the right. On a clear day this view would show Mt. Baker about 96 mile’s away in the US.

Our Fergus was born on Prince Edward Island. He spent the first couple of years of his life in Cold Harbour, Nova Scotia, before joining us on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We did many trips to Tofino and Long Beach, where he spent many hours swimming in the Pacific Ocean, his happy place!

We made the mistake of letting our Norah have free run on the picnic tables. It wasn't long before she decided she owned them and any food from picnickers was free-range! Very embarrassing! She's been gone now for over 4 years, and we still think of her every day! 💔
