What I need people to understand again is that by buying the ticket, all you do is buy the right to be in the space. But you still have to exist within the societal contract of that space. You’re still a guest; that means you follow the rules. If you can’t do that, you shouldn’t be in public. (5/5)

A group of drunk concert-goers recently got in my face because I asked them to stop dancing in the aisle and blocking the path of other guests and venue workers. When Jack White was at my venue, he had a strict no-phones policy. You wouldn’t believe how many people screamed at me about it. (3/5)

What actually happened is that you paid to be a guest in the venue. You paid to be a guest of the artist performing. And what happens whenever you’re a guest in someone else’s house? You have to follow their rules. Otherwise, you lose the right to be in their home. (2/5)
