A bit slanted - look at the Daily Change and the Total Gross. Projecting out, there probably won't be much difference.

Numbers for July 5, 2026. Daily change for Young Washington is -27%; +40% for Supergirl. Young Washington has been in release for 3 days; grossed about 21 million; Supergirl for 10 days; grossed about 58.5 million.

I've read a lot of graphic novels that state on the cover, "graphic adaptation of the novel by so-and-so" and list both authors. I had assumed this was standard practice.

That's the most popular. It was used in Smallville and every DC comic from 2000 to 2022. On Darren's site, he names it "Brewer" after the creator of the font. Since Mark Waid came on at DC, DC has reverted to the pre-crisis Bridwell font in the mainline books, but sticks to Brewer in Absolute.

This isn't the usual transliteration font, but is written in "Doyle Kryptonian"; a full-on constructed Kryptonese language; it was also used in Supergirl and some of the other TV shows. This translates as "Finish":

My guess: by removing the image of the barrel and of the white man, they are seen as contributing to the erosion (ie, the attack on) pre-civil rights white southern culture. So although this has nothing to do with racism, to them it's in the same bucket as statues and sports team names.

Update to #SupermanThroughTheAges: DC has clarified the distinction between the terms "Kryptonese " and "Kryptonian"; which have often been conflated. And after 20 years, the comics have reverted from using Kryptonian back to legacy Kryptonese: www.supermanthroughtheages.com/theages/Ency...

"Kryptonian is a cipher used (mainly) for outward-facing purposes like marketing and merchandising," (ie the 'Kryptonian Transliteration Font), "where each English letter has a corresponding symbol. Kryptonese is a different dialect with 118 characters and its own grammee, which (in-world) really exists" Picture shows a Kryptonese message on Clark's tablet.

Krypto and Streaky and their Kryptonian pet-tags; which each read, "My name is (Krypto/Streaky) If found please contact Kal-El or Kara Zor-El planet Earth"
