Corporations routinely damage property, steal wages and property, destroy ecosystems and human lives. All they get is a stern verbal condemnation, a small fine and another tax break. Burning a warehouse down hurts but it ain't enough. We need real accountability for Corporations.

I didn't say it was perfect but it's objectively doing better than most of the country when it comes to housing affordability. I don't think there's hardly anyone making minimum wage. Even McDonald's workers are making $15 here. Not enough, but the federal minimum wage isn't common.

You actually can. I live in the Charlotte Metro area. They're building a lot just to keep up with the growing demand. Our rents are amongst the lowest and most stable in the country. It's not just how much you build, but how you build. Density is key.

They destroyed their agricultural capacity by switching over to an organic system too fast instead of phasing it out. Their primary issue was really the fact that their leadership was a family government where the only way to get into the government is to be in the family or marry in.

Yes every nation has debt. Mosley praised them for cutting their foreign debt but if ny memory is correct they did start borrowing in foreign currency again. Regardless, if you actually understand MMT you would know it takes more than bad fiscal policy to fuck up an economy.

They didn't do MMT. I know they said they did. But they took debt from outside of their own currency. By definition of MMT they didn't do MMT. They even had conversations with Fadhel Kaboub and he said they didn't do anything he told them to do.

Government shouldn't be in the business of making people wealthy. Government should be in the business of running society as equitably as possible. What we have now is a wealthy model thst funnels to the top. I don't know if we should have any policies that concerns itself with making people wealthy

Swapping energy sources is the easy part. What's hard is building the housing we need. Adding extras like ev charging station and solar panels to an affordable housing building is unnecessary and makes housing more expensive to build. Build the housing first, add the extras later.

They don't need to. All cities could be fueled by the most polluting sources known to man. Them powering dense housing and other urbanist infrastructure would counteract the emissions and would use less energy than adding these milestones. We can fix all that after the infrastructure is built.

The importance of a kitchen when you're traveling is key to reduce costs. You can't save money at a hotel, extended stays with kitchens allows you to save on eating out. Airbnb's give people that ability. Unfortunately, I agree most people are just using it because they don't like being in hotels.

I think it's depends. If you're staying some place for a day or 2, a hotel is more than enough. The reality is we don't have enough extended stay housing. When people travel, the cheapest hole in the wall hotel/motel is $50 a day. For a month that's basically rent prices.

If we are serious about climate change, reducing CO2 is the metric we are using. Even if we don't change how we build new housing, simply building more housing in high density reduces emissions. So at the worst, we're hitting multiple birds with one stone with no change in materials or energy use.

They are connected. A lot of our energy needs is influenced by our housing. Low density developments require and use more energy than high density developments. Not to mention regulation and housing norms prevent energy efficient housing impossible or expensive to build.

They did. The difference is that flexible screens are a relatively new technology that developers are trying to understand and improve their applications for. There's literally nothing new about a new iPhone. Their software is basic, barely any AI tech, but they're charging you premium prices.

Who does she think she's impressing with that disaster? I hope the EV think is just for the pipes and not the full charger. Getting the pipes ran is great for future proofing while keeping costs down. Paying day is always cheaper than tomorrow. But poor people can't afford EVs yet.
