Been trying ("try" being the key word) to take two "quick 10" practice quizzes for the LSW exam every day, with the goal of maintaining this routine until the day of the exam (in December). So far, so good! I'm very grateful for Pocket Prep--it has proven to be a VERY useful study tool.

Incredibly grateful to have received funding from a local donut county (immediately south of Marion) to expand the NO Limits to Recovery program. Also received $10,000 from a northern donut county to expand upwards!

Today I am grateful to celebrate 11 years--132 months, 4,017 days, and 96,418 hours--in recovery. The life I have today, the person I am, is possible because of a program of recovery (my preferred program). There are many pathways to recovery; recovery is possible-- there is hope.

It's hard to believe it's already been a little over a year since I moved into this house -- my own home. Not too long ago, I was incapable of seeing myself as a homeowner. Recovery made it possible. S***, I owe everything in my life today is a result of recovery. Recovery is possible.

And just like that, my MSW journey comes to an end. Eleven years ago, I never imagined going back to school—let alone earning a master’s degree. By the grace of God (as I understand God) and recovery, here we are. Next step: licensure. In the interim? Taking life one day at a time.

I'm beyond excited for graduation this upcoming Thursday! In the midst of alcoholism, I never saw myself finishing school - definitely not with a Masters. In recovery, I've learned and continue to learn to be true to myself. This honesty, to accept and love who I am, has led me to where I am today

To complicate matters further, many of these low-income areas are classified as food deserts (shaded purple), meaning residents live more than 1+ mile from the nearest grocery store. Within these recovery residences, many lack access to transportation, making it even more difficult to obtain food.

In Marion County, Indiana a significant portion of recovery residences are situated in low-income ZIP Codes (shaded blue), often because housing is more affordable in these areas. Unfortunately, this isolates residents, many of whom live below FPL, in neighborhoods lacking vital resources.

Today is my 10 year anniversary of entering the rooms of recovery - when I began working a program (my preferred program). When I first started this journey, I was defeated - an expert on self-pity. Back then, I never imagined I'd be who I am today - and where I am. I am immensely grateful.
