When I added this on my latest Digimon video, I remembered similar trivia where characters appeared in places before the release of their first "actual" project. Like how the 1st Sonic The Hedgehog game wasn't the first appearance of Sonic.

I got many comments about it on the other website, so sharing my answer here. I interpreted Volvemon as an origin for evolution, not connected to the past lore, because they "recently" retconned the experiments from studying already existing Digimon (1) to creating them (2). Let me talk about this.

After Digimon Beatbreak's finale, we got Volvemon's profile. Although I have seen a lot of positive hype for it, I can't help but see it as fundamentally damaging to Digimon. So, today I want to explain this perspective and why I see it as the antithesis of Digimon's evolution.

I was so concentrated on the MonMon and DigiDigi page that I completely missed that Koromon was also there with the early design. I only saw it in a CoroCoro magazine and even put a note mentioning that in the video, but I just missed that it was actually also in V-Jump 😅

I feel that learning that Time Stranger's later half was made by a bunch of Digimon fans who argued over their individual interpretations made me understand why its ending path didn't resonate with me as I have been distant from the Digimon fanbase's opinions for a long time.

I was named after Maurice Ravel's Boléro, so the fact that I became active with Digimon is one of the most unexpected coincidences in my life. When I was younger, I always felt uncomfortable when listening to Boléro, but I watched so much Digimon that I moved on from feeling that.

Director Tomono updated his blog, commenting on what he said about Digimon Story Time Stranger at the Japan Game Awards. The staff had a lot of Digimon fans who knew more about Digimon than he did, but they all had their own interpretations and often got into arguments about it.

The first V-Jump Digital Monster guidebook was called "I'll Become the Digimon King, Mon!", released on September 8, 1997. Its original name was "I'll Become the Digimon Master, Mon" and was meant to be released on July 31st.

I saw a post on Reddit about Naito's backstory not being shown in Digimon Beatbreak, and this reminded me of a post from Kakudou's blog that I had recently looked at. Some characters indeed have deeper settings than the staff imagines they can depict, for many reasons.

Sometimes when I'm making the thumbnails for my videos, I think, "Why don't I just make a clickbait thumb?" and then I think of something like this that exaggerates and focuses on something I say in the video. But the idea is so ridiculous that I just laugh at it.

Although Koushiro had been decided to be adopted from the beginning, the staff was uncertain if they would ever show it in Digimon Adventure. However, Hiro Masaki, who himself was adopted, touched on the subject in Episode 5 and continued to portray it with proper care in future episodes.

Sometimes I see Watanabe's older work, even from before some of his Digimon designs, and I can't help but feel how well they fit together. The style here is closer to what I saw in his more personal works, but with this one, I couldn't help but feel a familiarity with Vamdemon.

The video I'm working on right now is about the creation of Digimon, which is a conceptual remake of my first video, but better organized and with more info. But I underestimated the work involved, and there's always a problem with the versions of this story not fitting 100%.

My most common Digimon experience when I was very young was a Digimon The Movie DVD, and one thing I continued to be amazed at was the way Magnamon's Extreme Jihad was depicted here. It's my favorite portrayal, and I would have liked to see more portrayals like this.

Magnamon's golden armor emits a light that can induce miracles; those with righteous hearts are encouraged by it, while wicked hearts are damaged by it. Its special move, Plasma Shoot, also carries its miraculous power, and something might happen to those who see it being used.

My next video will be about the creation of the very first Digital Monster. One thing I find niced is how this Tyrannomon model was used so much back in the day and is still used, especially to show the wireframe and Digicore. I wonder if they still have the original 3D model.

About the Asuka Arc, Miyu Irino, Tomoro's VA, said that after each week's recording, they were given the next week's script, and only then did they discover what would happen. This meant their experience with Digimon Beatbreak was very close to that of the viewers.

As some people noted, Virus Metal Greymon being blue because it didn't fully withstand mechanization to extend its life is a less extreme version of Raremon, which completely failed and became fully rotten. But is that right? The truth is, Raremon's lore also changed.

Why was Metal Greymon originally blue? According to Kenji Watanabe, the original concept was that its body had hyperdeveloped to the point of being unsustainable and had started to rot. The mechanical parts were there to help sustain it, but also gave it a power-up. (1/5)

There was a huge problem yesterday that made me not work as much, but back at it. Putting the old profiles in the video, I remember finding it funny every time they call Perfect Digimon an "ultimate evolution" or "ultimate form" because, at that time, it was the last stage.

I'm almost finished with the video script, and after counting everything, I think I got 9 different origin stories (Some closer to others) for the Virus/Vaccine Metal Greymon variations. I think only one is actually well-known by Digimon fans, which wasn't even the original one.

One difficult part of editing the video is that, for some reason, my graphics driver has issues with Twitter and often crashes when I scroll down or watch something. When it happens with DaVinci Resolve open, it crashes the computer, and I have to restart it a few times.

I sometimes think about nods the Digimon staff made that I didn't notice before. Like, this Digimon Frontier episode was a Superman II critique. The writer found the revenge diner scene after Superman regained his powers to be cowardly, so Tomoki was shown as a proper hero.

Although later in 02 they explained that the Digimon couldn't evolve to Perfect because "they gave away the power of the crests to help the Four Holy Beasts", to me, early material implied that the explanation was going to be that the power had been converted to the Digimentals.
